Lei Qianjue landed with Li Zhengyang in an open clearing.
There were no sentries at the entrance, only a statue.
It was a black dragon sprawled atop a massive boulder, its entire body emanating a terrifying aura that made Li Zhengyang's legs go weak.
The scales on its body were clearly visible, and a broken saber was embedded in its head.
"This is a Martial Saint-level Demonic Beast."
Lei Qianjue pointed at the statue. "You know what a Martial Saint is, right? It's below a Martial Sovereign."
Two people stood beside the stone monument, dressed in matching black combat uniforms.
The moment they saw Lei Qianjue, they bowed in unison.
"Thunder Venerable."
"Rise."
Lei Qianjue waved a hand. "This is a newcomer, number 1001, Li Zhengyang. Have Zhao Yi take him through the procedures."
After saying that, he turned and glanced at Li Zhengyang.
"I have other matters to deal with. Familiarize yourself with the place first. If you have any questions, find Zhao Yi."
Li Zhengyang nodded.
Lei Qianjue's figure flickered, and he vanished from the spot.
The two guards straightened up and gave Li Zhengyang a couple of appraising looks. One of them picked up a communicator and made a call.
Before long, someone emerged from deep within the valley.
He was in his early thirties, with short hair, a lean and capable build, and a ring of stubble around his chin.
"Zhao Yi, captain of the Army-Breaker Bureau's Seventh Squad."
He walked up to Li Zhengyang and scanned him from head to toe. "You're the newcomer Thunder Venerable mentioned?"
"Yes, I'm Li Zhengyang."
Zhao Yi's gaze lingered on him for two extra seconds.
"Follow me."
After passing through the narrow passage at the entrance, the view suddenly opened up.
Li Zhengyang's steps slowed by half a beat.
