New World, Hanasu Island.
This island was one of the territories under the Beasts Pirates. Its main industries were mining Iron Body ore and smelting steel, providing raw materials for Wano Country's weapons factories.
At a mining site on Hanasu Island, slave miners with lifeless eyes and shackles on their hands stood in line, walking one after another toward a green-haired little girl.
These people were either pirates who had failed in challenging the Beasts Pirates, or members of small and mid-sized pirate crews that had failed to join any major power.
Because they were too weak, all mere grunts, Kaido could not be bothered with them and had no intention of recruiting them.
So, they were thrown onto work sites to perform hard labor until they were worked to death!
That was the cruelty of the New World!
If a pirate crew was not powerful enough and did not join another strong force, then its only fate was to be annexed—or even completely destroyed—by other great pirate crews!
Gekko Moria and Crocodile had once been prime examples. Unable to gain a foothold in the New World and unwilling to join another force, they could only slink back to Paradise to lick their wounds...
The slave miners in line only needed to be lightly touched by the green-haired little girl's hand to turn into metal soldier toys. Furthermore, all memories related to those slaves would be erased, and no one would ever remember them again.
Knowing they would be turned into toys, the slave miners naturally did not want to comply!
However...
What the slave miners feared most was Queen, one of the Beasts Pirates' Lead Performers. He sat in a large chair with a cigar clenched between his lips, coldly watching them.
