A warship suddenly sailed in from the distant sea and quickly docked at the entrance to Impel Down.
Blackbeard Teach led Burgess, Van Auger, Lafitte, and Doc Q as they jumped down from the warship's deck.
Seeing this, the Impel Down guards stationed at the prison entrance hurriedly called out:
"Wait! Blackbeard Teach, Impel Down never received notice that you would be coming here. State your purpose!"
"Zehahahaha! My purpose...?
Of course, it's to conquer this prison and release every prisoner inside!" Blackbeard Teach laughed.
"What?!"
At those words, all the guards were startled. They immediately raised their guns, ready to open fire.
However, the difference in strength between the two sides was simply too great. Before they could pull the triggers, Blackbeard and his men had already knocked them all to the ground, leaving them without even the slightest chance to resist.
Before long, Blackbeard Teach crossed the drawbridge and arrived at the entrance to Impel Down's inner gates. Looking at the massive steel prison doors before him, he merely wore a disdainful expression and sneered.

In an instant, a strange black substance erupted from his body, rapidly spreading beneath the prison gates and dragging the entire set of doors into the abyss-like darkness at his feet.

A piercing alarm suddenly rang throughout all of Impel Down.
"Emergency! Shichibukai Blackbeard Teach has invaded Impel Down! All personnel, enter combat status!"
Upon hearing the news, Impel Down's guards immediately grabbed their weapons and rushed toward the entrance to the first level.

To the guards' utter despair, Blackbeard Teach continuously eroded the prison cell bars with his power, releasing one vicious criminal after another. Using them to snowball his forces, he kept pushing deeper into the prison's lower levels.
