Bartholomew Kuma's massive body suddenly tore through the air from afar. When he landed, the ground was immediately blasted into a paw-shaped crater.

It seems Vegapunk must have left behind some contingency I didn't know about," Saint Saturn said with displeasure.
As though recalling an unbearably painful memory, Kuma said with grief written all over his face:

The Sapphire Scales that tormented Bonney and Ginny back then appeared because you conducted certain experiments on them, didn't it?"
While Sephiroth had sent people to hunt down the Five Elders' remaining forces, they had stumbled upon a laboratory and discovered some of Saint Saturn's research materials within it.
Among them was an experimental record concerning Ginny and the child in her womb.
After those research materials were transferred to Egghead Island, Vegapunk reviewed them and gained a general understanding of the situation.
Therefore, after learning of this matter, Vegapunk told his good friend Kuma about it.
Saint Saturn's eyes were utterly indifferent as he nodded without any attempt at denial.
"You're right. Back then, I conducted Devil Fruit-related experiments on that woman named Ginny or something. She was a failed test subject.
That Sapphire Scales disease was also a side effect caused by the experiment's failure. She even passed the disease on to the fetus..."
