"Don't waste time, Mr. Azir. Leave this to us. You all keep moving forward!"
One of the Pokémon Trainers from Goldenrod City who had come with them spoke up, choosing to fight the Magneton alongside the Trainer beside him.
Magneton had already activated Electric Terrain. Under Zapdos's thunderstorm of such magnitude, the effect of Electric Terrain had undoubtedly been pushed to its limit.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Azir quickly made his decision and said in a low voice:
"Be careful. If anything happens that you can't withstand, retreat!"
With that, he waved his hand without hesitation and led the remaining people onward.
The Slums were already located in the far west of Goldenrod City, and the junkyard lay even farther west. What had originally seemed like a short distance now became exceptionally difficult to traverse.
Xia Yan, following behind Azir and the others, had a flicker in his eyes.
After Lance learned of Weedle's condition, he took responsibility for protecting Xia Yan. Whenever lightning descended from the sky, he was usually the one blocking it.
Charizard and Gyarados had both suffered considerable injuries in the battle against Loto. Furthermore, both Charizard and Gyarados were Flying-type Pokémon, making them ill-suited to endure lightning attacks. Gyarados, being both Water-type and Flying-type, had it even worse. So the only Pokémon Lance could summon at this point was Dratini.
They advanced step by step.
The wild Pokémon they encountered also grew increasingly powerful.
Perhaps Zapdos's most terrifying aspect was its devastating, world-ending power, but its ability to invisibly draw Electric-type Pokémon closer was equally troublesome.
It was already foreseeable that, if this continued for a while longer, large numbers of Electric-type Pokémon would appear throughout Goldenrod City.
And in order to speed things up, the Trainers who had come with them were
