"How many times have you been caught now?" Xun Uchiha looked her up and down.

"I lost count. A few dozen, probably," Angelina said casually.

"A few dozen?" Xun Uchiha could hardly believe it.

"Yeah." Angelina brushed the dust off herself, unconcerned, as though what had just happened was an everyday occurrence. "They've caught me dozens of times, and I've escaped dozens of times." Her nonchalance was both admirable and absurd.

"I said they wanted to kill me. I never said they wanted me dead right now." Angelina pursed her lips, a hint of sly nonchalance in her voice.

Xun Uchiha frowned slightly and pressed her. "Then when do they plan to do it?"

"If I lie, they'll kill me," she answered lightly, as though discussing the weather.

Xun Uchiha's gaze sharpened. "Then what lie did you just tell?"

Angelina did not answer immediately. She gazed quietly at Xun Uchiha, her eyes as deep as still pools, seemingly weighing some philosophical question. After a long while, her lips curved into a teasing smile. "Do you think you can believe what I say?"

"If you're not sure, there's no point telling you." Angelina turned toward the jeep and rested her hand on the door handle. "But if you insist on assuming..."
