Kordo's expression instantly shifted from calm to fury. He slowly raised a hand and removed the heavy glasses he had always worn. When the glasses left his face, everyone present drew a sharp breath—the eyes beneath no longer resembled human eyes at all.
Where his eyeballs should have been were two deep purple vortices, endlessly turning as if they connected to the deepest reaches of the Void. Twisted images occasionally flashed within them, afterimages of countless worlds and lives that had been devoured. Whenever he looked directly at someone, they felt a tremor rise from the depths of their soul.
"Do you really think a few Anchor Stones can stop the Void from descending?" Kordo's voice became low and hollow, every word carrying an echo from the abyss. "I have already merged with the Void Origin and become a bridge between two worlds!"
He raised his staff high. Set into its tip was a Dark Purple Crystal Lin Ye had never seen before. The crystal radiated a suffocating pressure, warping the air around it into visible whirlpools.
"A fragment of the Void Origin..." Lin Ye recognized the terrifying object, and his face instantly turned pale. "No wonder he can control Void Power so easily."
With a cold sneer, Kordo swung his staff. The purple vortex in the sky, which had been dissipating, suddenly expanded dramatically until it spanned several kilometers. Deafening roars erupted from its depths, followed by hundreds, then thousands, of Void Creatures pouring out and blotting out the sky.
The creatures came in every imaginable form, yet all radiated the same terrifying aura. Some resembled enormous bats with wingspans exceeding ten meters, their wings covered in flickering Purple Patterns. Others looked like twisted humanoids, their bodies formed from semi-transparent Void Energy and their faces nothing but blurred shadows.
