After the news spread, the entire network fell into tension.
Concept War was a form of conflict even more terrifying than physical war.
At higher dimensions, "existence" itself was a concept.
If enough powerful consciousnesses believed that something "should not exist," that consensus could become reality.
"What are these three five-dimensional civilizations?" Lin Ye asked.
The Absolute One brought up the intelligence. "The first is called the Eternal Empire. It has existed for at least three eras. It is extremely xenophobic and believes that only pureblood races are qualified to exist in the higher dimensions."
"The second is the Extinction Church. It believes all things will ultimately return to extinction and considers any attempt to defy the laws of nature to be blasphemy."
"The third is the most troublesome—the Rulekeeper Alliance. It is made up of more than a dozen four-dimensional civilizations. None of them is particularly strong individually, but together, they wield enormous conceptual influence."
Lin Ye frowned. "Why are they targeting us?"
"The reasons differ." The Absolute One continued, "The Eternal Empire believes we have given 'inferior creatures' power they do not deserve."
"The Extinction Church believes our efforts to resist the Dark Era are a defiance of heaven's will."
"The Rulekeeper Alliance fears that our breaking of the dimensional barriers will shake the foundations of their rule."
"In short, we have touched the interests of too many existing powers."
The Primordial Source's projection appeared in the conference room. "This was to be expected."
"When a new force rises, it will inevitably draw the hostility of the old order."
"The question is, how do we respond?"
Lin Ye pondered for a moment. "What is the essence of Concept War?"
"It is a contest of perception," the Primordial Source explained. "Whoever can make more beings accept their concept wins."
