Wang Cheng is introduced as Class 1’s skilled player and Li Ke’s declared “greatest enemy.” Before the tournament, he promises teammates rewards if they help target Li Ke physically during their eventual matchup 15.

Against Class 9, he dominates on offense with 14 points while Class 1 takes a commanding lead. His attention shifts when he sees Wen Ting in the crowd and assumes she is searching for Li Ke, causing his jealousy to flare 20.

School-Team Discipline

Wang Cheng, Li Ke, and Zhu Zhan arrive late for school-team practice and are punished by Fang Shan. Wang Cheng immediately sprints ahead in hopes of finishing first, but his stamina fades after his earlier game 27 28.

Li Ke exploits Wang Cheng’s fear of further punishment, convinces him to slow down, then overtakes him. Wang Cheng ultimately runs three laps and is left behind to complete the final lap alone 28 29.

Escalating Conflict with Class 5

Wang Cheng confronts Li Ke and Zhu Zhan on a school balcony, declares the spot his, and orders them to leave. With Class 1 students backing him, he escalates the confrontation until Li Ke withdraws rather than fight 32.

After Li Ke leaves, Wang Cheng boasts that Li Ke will never beat him, further deepening their rivalry ahead of the Class League match 33.

Class 1 vs. Class 5

Wang Cheng leads Class 1 into its Class League game against Class 5, intending to take revenge on Li Ke. He acknowledges that both Li Ke and Zhu Zhan are dangerous school-team players, but trusts Class 1’s deeper lineup to overwhelm Class 5 48 49.
