"Come on, whatever changes there might be, everyone still has to agree to them first!"
Wang Yuzhi gave a dry laugh and waved over a student.
"Ren Ming, I'll leave these students from Fallen Blossom City to you. Don't neglect them."
"Don't worry, Teacher!" Ren Ming had a lean, capable build and a resolute expression.
After sizing each other up for a moment, Wan Keshan and Teacher Li followed Wang Yuzhi away without concern.
Once the two teachers had left, Li Qingshan naturally stood out at the front of the group.
With an enthusiastic smile, Ren Ming walked over to Li Qingshan.
"Classmate, are you the team leader?"
Li Qingshan glanced at Zhong Xian beside him. Seeing her blank expression and no intention of speaking, he nodded lightly.
"Classmate, shall we exchange contact information? If you have any problems over the next two days, you can contact me."
"Then I'll have to trouble you, Classmate Ren."
Li Qingshan readily exchanged Communicator numbers with Ren Ming.
Then the group followed Ren Ming toward the exit.
"Classmate Li, our school's vehicles are right ahead."
Along the roadside, a row of blue business vans stood neatly parked, each bearing the emblem of Wuyi City First High School.
The vans were not large and could only seat a dozen or so people.
Teams boarded under the guides' direction from time to time, leaving as soon as they got on.
Ren Ming led them toward one of the vans.
However, as they drew nearer, Ren Ming's expression gradually darkened.
Li Qingshan took one look and quickly understood why.
The van they were supposed to take was already full.
A lavishly dressed young man stood outside the door, his gold watch gleaming in the sunlight as he looked at them provocatively.
More precisely, he was looking at Ren Ming.
"Classmate Ren, is there a problem?"
"It's nothing, just a small issue. I'll handle it."
Ren Ming forced a smile and waved his hand before striding forward.
"Yu Yuanjun, this van was assigned to me. What right do you have to take it?"
"We're all classmates. Why make such a distinction between yours and mine?"
Yu Yuanjun crossed his arms and said unhurriedly,
"My vehicle broke down halfway here, so I'm borrowing yours for now."
Ren Ming clenched his fists and suppressed his anger.
"If your vehicle broke down, go ask the school for another one, or take your people in a taxi. You've taken my van—how am I supposed to send these people back?"
"What? Want to fight?" Yu Yuanjun raised an eyebrow and said with a smile,
"Actually, you do have a point. But the team I'm hosting is already seated in the van."
"Why don't you go and 'invite' them out?" Yu Yuanjun raised a hand and pointed at the door.
"Don't blame me for not warning you—the ones inside are the Martial Arts Class from Five Plains City."
Five Plains City's Martial Arts Class was renowned for its strength throughout the province, claiming several Rookie Tournament slots almost every year.
Ren Ming's face turned pale, then green, but he did not move.
Naturally, he knew Five Plains City's reputation. But even if they had been a Martial Arts Class from another city, he should not drive them off the vehicle.
If he really did that, he would be falling right into Yu Yuanjun's scheme.
Yet if he could not get the van back, he would be neglecting Li Qingshan's group.
Just as Ren Ming hesitated, the van door was suddenly shoved open.
A buzz-cut young man leaned out and asked in a deep voice,
"Why aren't we leaving yet?"
"Please wait, Classmate Lin. We'll set off immediately!"
Yu Yuanjun answered with a fawning smile, then looked at Ren Ming and waved.
"You should take a taxi. We're leaving first."
"Oh, I almost forgot. You were raised under the Public Upbringing Policy, so you probably don't have much money."
Yu Yuanjun adjusted the gold watch on his wrist and sneered.
"Remember to ask the driver for a receipt. Come back and get reimbursed by me."
"You can't leave!"
Ren Ming's gaze hardened as he stepped forward.
No matter what,
Yu Yuanjun was targeting him, so he could only bear it himself.
He could not give up this van!
Just then, a hand suddenly reached out from behind and rested on his shoulder.
"Classmate Ren, let me handle this!"
The voice sounded behind him, and Ren Ming froze.
"Classmate Li?"
Behind them, Yu Lei and the others were unsurprised. Zhong Xian, however, frowned and warned,
"Li Qingshan, Lin Fan is very strong. There's no need to face him early over something like this."
"Don't worry. I'm not stupid."
Li Qingshan chuckled and stepped forward.
Yu Yuanjun frowned slightly and looked at Li Qingshan.
"Classmate, you..."
His words stopped halfway as his eyes instantly filled with horror.
He had clearly only taken a few steps, yet he was already right in front of him.
Smack!
A slap struck him, and Yu Yuanjun crashed to the ground.
"Y-You dared to hit me?"
Yu Yuanjun clutched his swollen cheek and said incredulously,
"You're standing up for Ren Ming? Did you know each other before? You... Aah!"
Before he could finish asking, several more kicks landed, and Yu Yuanjun screamed miserably without end.
Crack!
A crisp sound rang out.
Li Qingshan looked at the twisted, bent arm and sighed, shaking his head.
"Your Body Tempering isn't good enough. Your body is far too weak."
"Madman! You madman!"
Yu Yuanjun wailed as he desperately turned toward Lin Fan by the van door and begged,
"Classmate Lin, save me! Please save me!"
"Idiot."
Lin Fan coldly spat out two words and ignored him.
He had ignored Yu Yuanjun's attempt to use them in a setup, but that did not mean he had not known about it.
Since Yu Yuanjun had tried to be clever, he naturally had to suffer the consequences.
Bang! Bang!
Li Qingshan eased the force in his legs and kicked twice more.
Yu Yuanjun's body curled up like a shrimp, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.
Everyone around them was stunned by Li Qingshan's actions. He was trying to beat the man to death!
Ren Ming was the first to react. He rushed forward and grabbed Li Qingshan's arm tightly.
"Enough, enough! My grudge with him isn't that deep. If you keep hitting him, the Patrol Bureau will be here."
"Classmate Ren, don't misunderstand."
Li Qingshan shook his head, his expression turning serious.
"I didn't hit him to stand up for you. I hit him because I felt discriminated against!"
"Discriminated against?"
Ren Ming froze. He had never expected Li Qingshan to say those words.
Yu Yuanjun, lying on the ground, nearly coughed up blood. No—he really did cough up blood.
Pfft!
Yu Yuanjun spat out a mouthful of blood, wanting to cry but unable to.
He had clearly been discriminating against Ren Ming. What did that have to do with this madman?!
"I was also raised under the Public Upbringing Policy. According to the Public Upbringing Anti-Discrimination Law, even if I beat him into a severe injury, I won't be breaking the law!"
Li Qingshan gave a simple explanation, then kicked twice more.
Bang! Bang!
Yu Yuanjun screamed miserably, his eyes nearly splitting apart.
But he could only desperately bury his head, not daring to let the other party see the anger in his eyes, much less utter any threats.
Because the Public Upbringing Anti-Discrimination Law really existed!
The Public Upbringing Anti-Discrimination Law had been enacted alongside the Public Upbringing Policy. With its extraordinarily strict provisions, it had successfully curbed discrimination throughout society.
As discrimination faded away, this law gradually became forgotten as well.
But being forgotten did not mean it did not exist.
As long as Li Qingshan insisted on the fact that he had been "discriminated against," even beating Yu Yuanjun to death would not be a major problem.
At that thought, Yu Yuanjun was overwhelmed by terror. His eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot.
"That was all it took?"
Li Qingshan regretfully withdrew his foot, patted Ren Ming's shoulder, and said earnestly,
"Classmate Ren, when you encounter discrimination in the future, learn to use the law to protect yourself."
"Protect myself?!"
Ren Ming swallowed and looked at Yu Yuanjun on the ground, not knowing whether he was still breathing.
For the first time, he learned that the word "protect" could be used this way.
"I originally thought Fallen Blossom City only had Zhong Xian, who could barely count as my opponent. I didn't expect there to be someone like you too."
Lin Fan jumped out of the van, faced Li Qingshan, and extended a hand.
"Five Plains City, Lin Fan."
Li Qingshan smiled faintly and shook his hand.
"Fallen Blossom City, Li Qingshan."
"Do you still want this van?"
Lin Fan pointed behind him at the van door, battle intent rising in his eyes.
"Don't worry. There will be plenty of chances to fight tomorrow. We won't need this van."
Li Qingshan smiled and pointed up at the sky.
"Our ride is here."
A shadow covered everyone's heads as a black flying vehicle slowly descended...
