Hearing crisp footsteps echoing down the corridor, Shu Qing hugged her laptop to her chest and turned her head to look at Chen Xu as he drew closer.
Raising her right hand, she glanced at the time on her watch. She tried to keep her tone calm as she deliberately erased the scene from earlier that day from her mind. "Hello, Mr. Chen."
"Is something the matter?" Chen Xu looked down at the little girl standing outside his room. He did not care how this young girl had learned his name and answered casually.
"Regarding this case, there are some things I'd like to discuss with you." Shu Qing lifted her small face. "Would you mind speaking privately?"
After carefully examining the girl and confirming that she posed no possible threat to him, Chen Xu casually swiped open the door. "Please come in, Miss Shu."
With no intention of preparing tea, Chen Xu pulled over an armchair beside the coffee table and sat down carelessly. "What is it, Miss Shu? You can speak now."
"Please wait a moment. I need to make sure that no third party besides the two of us can hear this conversation." With that, she opened her laptop and began typing rapidly.
His expression unchanged, Chen Xu focused his senses for a moment, then closed his eyes and waited for Shu Qing to finish.
"Mr. Chen, you always act as though you don't care about the outside world at all." Without looking up, Shu Qing said seemingly casually, "Are all Martial Artists like this?"
Hearing the words "Martial Artist," Chen Xu slowly opened his eyes but did not respond.
His tone remained calm, yet every word seemed to strike her heart. "From the first sentence you spoke to me, your heart rate has
