Shattered stones flew, grass clippings whirled through the air, and the ground cracked outward in layer after layer from where Chen Xu stood.

"It didn't hurt the Anomaly at all?" His eyes narrowed as he noticed that the two claws had become far more illusory.

The shattered rocks passed straight through the claws without touching anything solid.

The claws solidified and lunged fiercely at Chen Xu's legs.

A metallic sheen spread across his skin. The cloth torn apart by the sharp claws fluttered away in the wind, accompanied by the piercing clang of metal striking metal.

Blood-Qi surged. Chen Xu drove down a punch, and in less than a second, the claws became illusory again. The restraint around his legs vanished completely.

"An Anomaly that can switch between being insubstantial and solid?" The thought flashed through Chen Xu's mind. It was his first time encountering such an Anomaly.

Still, this kind of Anomaly was not that difficult to deal with. At the very least, it could not hurt anyone while it was insubstantial.

If it wanted to attack, it had to solidify. That was his opportunity!

Channeling his Blood-Qi Force, Chen Xu darted forward several steps and stopped on an open dirt road without any cover—not even much grass in sight.

The Shadow-Hiding Monster let out hoarse "heh-heh" sounds. It could now only launch attacks from within Chen Xu's shadow, but such attacks posed no effective threat to the human.
