A crisp cracking sound echoed over the battlefield. The golden web spanning more than ten kilometers was forcibly split open by a crack over a hundred meters long under the glare of the Nine-Tomoe Rinnegan within the Divine Tree's bud.
Naruto's knees slammed heavily into the rocky ground, his kneecaps letting out a muffled groan under the strain. Blood seeped from every joint in his body, and his golden Chakra cloak flickered like a dying candle in the wind.
Obito stood high in the sky, looking down at the devastation below. Cruel delight shone in his lone eye beneath the mask. "Naruto Uzumaki, I told you long ago. Mortal bonds are nothing but a joke before absolute numbers and rules. You linked the lives of tens of thousands together, but all you did was lay out a more convenient feast for the Divine Tree!"
The Divine Tree's bud let out a teeth-grating rasp. The vortex siphoning Chakra surged wildly through the crack in the golden web, latching onto the vast Yang Release Chakra within Naruto and desperately dragging it out.
"Idiot."
Naruto suddenly grinned, his blood-covered teeth looking unnervingly white in the night.
He had never intended to pull back the Chakra being dragged away. Not only did he not reclaim it, he abruptly opened the floodgates of his defense.
"Sasuke! Light it up!" Naruto roared through his ruined voice.
Sasuke, who had already fought his way to the edge of the formation's core, narrowed the six-pointed star in his left eye. Two trails of bloody tears streamed from it. "Amaterasu!"
A mass of absolute black flames burst into existence, directly igniting the violent Yang Release Naruto had deliberately sent out. The golden web that had been used for defense instantly became an incomparably thick fuse!
