Hinata looked up. The pure white of her eyes had vanished beneath interwoven blue and gold light.
The chakra beam made no sound, but through her eyes, the Divine Tree's main root deep underground—thick as a mountain range—looked like a greedy straw. It drained the Shinobi World's remaining Natural Energy and sent it straight toward the moon, whose blood-red hue had yet to fade.
"See anything?" Naruto spat out a mouthful of bloody foam and barely managed to prop himself up on his left arm.
Sasuke lay in the muddy water, his right eye closed. The Six-Pointed Star Rinnegan in his remaining left eye turned with difficulty as he followed Hinata's gaze skyward.
A second later, his mouth twisted into an ugly sneer. "That scheming bastard Black Zetsu had one more trick up his sleeve. That thing's packing up Earth's chakra and shipping it into the sky."
"I told you that arrow of yours hit too hard. You even knocked the foundation loose!" Naruto grumbled. "Now they're up there receiving the delivery while we're down here drinking mud."
Sasuke had no interest in trading barbs. He raised his remaining right hand, his face cold. "Save everyone first. If we don't break Tsukuyomi, this damned planet will end up sucked dry."
Naruto staggered to his feet and took two steps forward, swaying like a noodle. Sakura reacted at once, catching him by the shoulder and pouring medical chakra into the stump of his arm.
"Enough, Sakura. Don't waste your energy. Just stop the bleeding." Naruto grinned, tucked his severed arm behind his back, and held out his mud-covered left hand.
Two hands hung in the air.
One left hand. One right.
Without another word, their fingers crossed to form the most basic seal: the Rat Seal.
The Yin–Yang Power left within
