Facing the Boss's Questions

A faint smile curled Moke's lips as his gaze slowly shifted to Tashigi. "Thanks," he said softly. Then he abruptly turned, his blazing eyes fixed on the boss. "I want this sword. But I also know you have another Meito hidden here, one called Yubashiri. Bring it out and let me have a look!"

"What?" Tashigi's eyes, which had been fixed on Sandai Kitetsu, flew wide open. She cried out in shock, while her gaze shot toward the boss like twin bolts of lightning, as though she could see the legendary Yubashiri through him.

The boss was clearly startled by Moke's words. His expression instantly turned ugly, his face full of disbelief. Yet after only a moment, he quickly regained his composure. A sly grin returned to his lips as he rubbed his hands together and said with a smile that did not reach his eyes, "Heh heh, I don't know how you found out Yubashiri was here. But since you know about it, I suppose you know its value too?"

Moke did not answer the boss's question. Instead, he calmly pulled a sapphire from his clothes and flicked it lightly with his thumb. The sapphire shot toward the boss like a meteor.

Though surprised, the boss instinctively reached out and caught the sapphire, guided by years of business experience. He was, after all, a merchant who dealt in swords, and he possessed a sharp eye for rare treasures.

Still, this merchant was an experienced businessman, and his eye was indeed keen. The moment he saw the sapphire, awe surged through him. There was no doubt that it was the finest of the finest, a priceless gem beyond estimation.
