Jin An's blade fell like Thunderbolt, striking Imu's shoulder.
Blood sprayed across the battlefield, staining the earth red.
The blow was heavy and fierce, carrying all of Jin An's strength. At last, it broke through that seemingly invincible barrier.
"She... she's really hurt!"
A soldier in the Rebel Army cried out, his voice trembling with disbelief and excitement.
In that instant, the mood on the battlefield shifted.
Until now, Imu had seemed as untouchable as a god. Her boundless power and indifferent gaze had driven them to despair.
But now, they had seen this "god" show a mortal side for the first time.
"She can be hurt! She isn't invincible!"
The rebels looked at one another, joy and hope slowly appearing on their faces.
The soldiers who had been trembling with fear tightened their grips on their weapons, their eyes burning with fighting spirit.
Jin An breathed hard, the blade in his hand trembling slightly.
He had felt the weight of that strike, and he had felt Imu's strength.
His eyes stayed fixed on the enemy before him, watching her every movement.
He knew a wounded Imu was still dangerous, but for the first time, he could see a glimmer of victory.
Imu's reaction, however, sent a chill through everyone.
She stood there trembling slightly, her expression twisted and conflicted.
She glanced down at the wound on her shoulder. Blood ran slowly down her fair skin and dripped onto the ground.
That vivid red seemed more jarring than any slaughter.
"...Blood?"
She murmured the word in a low, hollow voice, as though confirming what she saw.
Then her expression changed abruptly.
Her pupils contracted, her eyes filling with disbelief and towering rage.
Her once cold, elegant face twisted with fury, as though it had been torn apart.
"Hundreds of years..."
