The stones immediately resonated, their light intertwining and enveloping him. A peculiar sensation rose within him—he began to sense the chaotic flow of time around him, seeing corridors and rooms randomly shifting between states from different eras.
"We need to find a path through the time stream..." Lin Ye murmured, his gaze sweeping rapidly across the exits.
Suddenly, he sensed that a corridor to his right was about to shift into the era when the temple had been completed, when every passage was connected. Without hesitation, Lin Ye rushed toward it. Sure enough, the instant he stepped inside, the surroundings shifted into a complete stone structure, and a staircase leading upward appeared ahead.
Lin Ye raced up the stairs. At every fork, guided by the Anchor Stone, he chose the passage that was about to shift into a favorable era.
"He's using the flow of time!" a Cipher Pol Aigis Zero agent realized Lin Ye's strategy. "Activate the Time Stabilizers!"
Several agents took out specialized devices and installed them at key points along the corridors. Once activated, the flow of time around them noticeably slowed, and Lin Ye felt his ability to predict the shifts weaken as well.
Just then, a dazzling yellow beam shot out from another corridor, followed by Kizaru's languid voice. "My, my, running around in this maze really is a headache~"
Kizaru appeared in the area as if by chance, yet cleverly destroyed several Time Stabilizers. "Oops, I accidentally broke a few devices. My apologies," he said to the agents with feigned regret.
The Cipher Pol Aigis Zero agents suspected nothing. Instead, they considered the Marine admiral's arrival a powerful boost to the pursuit. "Admiral Borsalino, the target is fleeing upward. We need to intercept him before he reaches the surface!"
