Jiang Qiao became Shi Junyi’s bodyguard, survived an ambush, and completed Shi Jiao’s mission to kill Ma Wen in hopes of returning to Shi Junyi’s side. As Jiang Qiao and Shi Junyi grew closer, Jiang Qiao encountered Fu Zhilan working at the Shi family estate.

• Jiang Qiao chose to avoid Fu Zhilan and pursue the bodyguard job, then rescued Shi Junyi from pursuers at a bar and drove him away on his motorcycle.
• Shi Junyi tested Jiang Qiao by assigning him to a banquet, where Jiang Qiao switched places with Sang Ye and later helped Shi Junyi escape an armed attack.
• Jiang Qiao brought the wounded Shi Junyi to his villa, cared for him through a fever, and spent the night with him before Shi Junyi returned to the estate.
• Shi Jiao asked Jiang Qiao to kill Ma Wen, and Jiang Qiao infiltrated Ma Wen’s estate, killed him, and escaped with Shen Guiyi’s help.
• Jiang Qiao returned to Shi Junyi and confessed his feelings, but Shi Junyi ordered him away, and Chen Sheng later arranged for Jiang Qiao to receive equipment and training.
• Jiang Qiao trained with Shi Junyi at the shooting range, delivered magazines to Shi Youxi, and confronted a servant who tried to underpay him.
• Jiang Qiao visited Shi Junyi’s bedroom with roses, and the two kissed and became intimate before Shi Junyi stopped him from going further.
• Shi Junyi retrieved Jiang Qiao’s discarded roses and put them in a vase, while Jiang Qiao saw Fu Zhilan at the estate carrying raw meat in a servant’s uniform.

Jiang Qiao and Shi Junyi grew more intimate while Shi Junyi insisted their relationship was only a bed-partner arrangement. Duan Xu returned to marry Shi Junyi, leaving Jiang Qiao to provoke her and Shi Junyi to react jealously to Jiang Qiao’s movements.

• Fu Zhilan joined the Shi family and pursued Shi Junyi, while Jiang Qiao began sneaking into Shi Junyi’s room and the two grew intimate.
• Shi Junyi punished Sang Ye for attacking Jiang Qiao, and Jiang Qiao continued his bodyguard work while Shi Youxi tried to recruit him and Shi Junyi asked him to attend a party as his companion.
• At the party, Shi Junyi introduced Jiang Qiao as his boyfriend, and Jiang Qiao learned that Shi Junyi had a fiancée named Duan Xu.
• Jiang Qiao confronted Shi Junyi about the engagement, then apologized for his dealings with Shi Youxi and received another chance from Shi Junyi.
• Shi Junyi grew jealous after mistaking Jiang Qiao’s cigarette-lighting with Zhao Xu for a kiss, while Jiang Qiao decided to give him space and continued visiting him secretly.
• Duan Xu returned and announced that she would marry Shi Junyi early the next year, so Jiang Qiao urged her not to marry him and offered to marry her himself.
• After Duan Xu left, Jiang Qiao passed his bodyguard assessments, and Shi Junyi reacted angrily when Chen Sheng reported Jiang Qiao’s late-night visit to Prince Charming.
