As soon as Dijun and Taiyi saw the Witch Clan arrive, they fled. They could not afford to provoke the Witch Clan yet, but they could still avoid them.

Dijun and Taiyi thought that once they left the battlefield on Purple Manor Immortal Island, the fighting would have nothing more to do with them. In fact, they were right—at least as far as that battlefield was concerned. But a band of uninvited "guests" seemed to have arrived at the Sun Palace. Perhaps a new battlefield would open there.

And who were those "guests" at the Sun Palace? Kunpeng and his followers, of course.

Dijun and Taiyi had fled so hastily that they had forgotten about Kunpeng's forces. Then again, they had never thought much of the Northern Sea Faction. How could they suddenly remember them now? Nor would they have imagined that Kunpeng would dare cause them "trouble." A tiger fallen onto the plains could be bullied by dogs—and Kunpeng's Northern Sea Faction was no ordinary dog. It was a mastiff at the very least.

Why hadn't the Northern Sea Faction joined the battle on Purple Manor Immortal Island?

Come on. It wasn't that Kunpeng didn't want to join in. They all did, but they had to know their own strength.

The moment Kunpeng saw the Witch Clan enter the fray, he knew there was nothing in that battle for them. Decisive as ever, he saw that Eastern King Duke had nothing left for him to gain and immediately led his followers to attack Dijun and Taiyi's Sun Palace. This was the best possible moment to seize it.
