Tan Yin secretly guessed that Gu Xiaoyue had to be hiding in some corner, closely watching their every move.

While staying alert to the movements of the surrounding demonic beasts, he discreetly searched for Gu Xiaoyue's possible hiding place from the corner of his eye, overlooking no suspicious spot.

After thinking for a moment, Tan Yin hatched a plan. He deliberately put on a concerned expression, supported Wang Rong with one hand, and said softly, "We found the key. We can leave this place now."

His tone made it sound as though they had truly found hope of escape, brimming with urgency and irrepressible joy.

Wang Rong was tormented by the Seed Poison. The moment Tan Yin drew close, his body instantly stirred, and the unbearable sensation grew even stronger.

His lips parted slightly, as if he wanted to cry out, or perhaps bite down on something hard. Yet the next instant, as though he had exhausted all his strength, he swiftly clamped down on his lower lip, squeezing it so hard that it turned white.

His body curled up uncontrollably, trying to shrink himself into the smallest possible ball to resist that overpowering instinctive response. He was practically leaning against Tan Yin's chest as he weakly nodded.

Gu Xiaoyue was not fooled by the act the two put on. Even if the key truly was in Tan Yin's hands, once the demonic beasts killed them, he would still have a way to retrieve it from their corpses.

Besides, he was certain that Tan Yin had no way of surviving this desperate situation, surrounded by demonic beasts on all sides.

So he merely watched Tan Yin's performance coldly, unmoved.

Seeing that he had not taken the bait, Tan Yin wiped the bloody foam from the corner of his mouth.
