The passages within Lion Camel Ridge were rugged and winding. The air was thick with nauseating blood stench and the rotten odor of a place that had not seen the Heavenly Sun in years. The stone walls on both sides were covered in thick dark-green moss, while murky droplets occasionally fell from the sharp stalactites overhead, splashing into puddles beneath their feet that were caked with dark-red grime, producing dull drips. Every dozen steps or so, a wall lamp made from a human skull was embedded in the rock, its ghostly green phosphorescent flame casting the already grim passage in the light of a Netherworld hell.
Chu Yang pressed himself against the icy stone wall, moving through the shadows of the passage like a weightless phantom. He held his breath and suppressed the fluctuations of his spiritual energy to the minimum, slipping past one drowsy Patrolling Imp after another, each holding a spear.
"Brother Chu Yang, over here!" A furry hand suddenly stretched out from the shadows around a corner ahead and yanked Chu Yang over.
Chu Yang focused his eyes and saw that it was Sun Wukong, who had infiltrated the place ahead of him. Sun Wukong had also restrained his usual flamboyant Demon Qi. His Golden Eyes Fiery Eyes flickered faintly in the darkness as he vigilantly scanned the depths of the passage.
