Chu Yang found Makomo fighting the Hand Demon on Fujikasane Mountain and killed it after rescuing her from its grip. He carried the unconscious Makomo to safety, then continued hunting demons through the rest of Final Selection.

• The Hand Demon taunted Makomo about killing Urokodaki's disciples, and she lost focus as she defended her master.
