Qin Ran froze for a moment.
Qin Ran knew about Burning Dawn's bounties on Sand Thief, Skullcrusher, and Bearman, but that did not mean Burning Dawn should have appeared here.
Both the background description of [Sword of Dawn] and the information he had obtained since entering this dungeon world told Qin Ran that Burning Dawn's troubles were far worse than he had imagined. Under those circumstances, could Burning Dawn still spare the attention to hand out rewards?
Besides, "he" had only killed Sand Thief, Skullcrusher, and Bearman last night. Word had not spread widely until this morning, and it was now only the afternoon. For the badly battered Burning Dawn to obtain that intelligence in just a few hours was truly hard to believe.
Qin Ran would never believe there was nothing suspicious going on.
Still, that did not stop him from going to meet this envoy.

With that thought, Qin Ran stopped lingering and strode out of the canyon.
Dressed in civilian clothes, Valen stood in Gravel Town's small square with his adjutant and six accompanying soldiers, watching the patrolling militia with a trace of surprise on his face.
"Those are militia?"
Valen sounded rather uncertain.
"Yes, Major. They... should all be members of Gravel Town's militia."
His adjutant, dressed like a merchant, nodded as he answered.
Yet his tone was equally uncertain.
Just look at the equipment these so-called militia carried!
In Valen's experience, militia generally carried a short sword, with perhaps one or two hunting bows among them at most. But the militia before him had leather boots, leather armor, longswords, and longbows. Nothing was missing.
They could rightly be called fully armed.
Equipment like that should not
