Chapter 1046: Stirring up chaos

Pudek's unkempt face was flushed scarlet.

There was anger, but even more shame.

There had been no need for an interrogation. A single question had been enough for the patrol officer to spill everything.

After landing several vicious punches that left the man in definite need of a stretcher, Pudek stormed out and slammed the door.

Pudek hated "vigilantes."

But he hated bastards who forgot their duties even more.

Bang!

The door slammed hard against its frame. Everyone nearby watched Pudek standing in the doorway in terrified silence, shrinking back and scurrying away.

"You can leave!"

Pudek panted heavily as he spoke to Qin Ran and Emma Eddie.

"Leave?"

"Do you realize that I just... wait for me, 2567!"

Emma Eddie's eyes widened, and she was about to argue with Pudek, but Qin Ran turned and walked away.

Emma Eddie immediately chased after him.

Still, she did not forget to turn back and "warn" Pudek.

"I've memorized your badge number and that guy's!"

"I'll have my lawyer demand compensation from you!"

Her warning made Pudek breathe even harder.

Had his duties and principles not forbidden him from hitting a woman, he would have picked up the chair beside him and hurled it at her.

After taking several more deep breaths and completely ignoring Emma Eddie, Pudek shouted after Qin Ran, "Remember what you promised me!"

Qin Ran did not look back. He raised his right hand and waved in acknowledgment.

Once he descended the steps, Qin Ran abruptly quickened his pace.

"Wait for me!"

Emma Eddie called urgently.

"Go find Pudek."

"At least you'll be safe there."

"Don't follow me!"

Qin Ran spoke without showing any intention of stopping.

After saying that, he walked faster and faster. Before long, he vanished into the night.
