The Great Marsh before him had the same face Qin Ran remembered, the same voice, and no discernible difference in his manner, yet Qin Ran instinctively felt that something was wrong.

If he had merely been suspicious before, the news had now turned his suspicions into a tentative conclusion.
He trusted Ford's loyalty.
So he trusted the information Ford had sent.
And judging by that information, the Great Marsh should not have been so relaxed.

A certain suspicion prompted Qin Ran to reassess the Great Marsh before him, but he found no further clues.
