Darkness suddenly appeared before Qin Ran's eyes.

There was no warning at all.

It was as though this patch of darkness had always existed here.

The darkness remained frozen for a second.

Then it gradually receded.

As though slowly opening his eyes, Qin Ran looked at a world that had turned black and white. He gazed across the black wilderness where he stood and the white river at his feet. Beneath the dim, murky sky, the earth was solid and the river flowed.

Then Qin Ran lowered his head and examined himself.

Black and white.

There were no other colors.

Qin Ran frowned slightly.

He had been in Lerdri, Warren's royal capital.

There was no doubt about that.

But now?

Where was he?

Qin Ran bent down and scooped up a handful of black earth.

It was cold and heavy.

Not only has its color changed, but its very nature too?

Qin Ran pondered silently.

He was certain he had never encountered earth this cold and heavy. Even frozen soil in a landscape of ice and snow was not as cold as the ground beneath his feet, and even a handful of iron sand would not have weighed as much.

Dropping the soil in his hand, Qin Ran wanted to investigate further.

But the moment he took a step, a crushing force abruptly pressed down on him from outside, as though a mountain had fallen from the sky onto his body.

What startled Qin Ran even more, however, was the unprecedented weakness spreading through his body.

His brow furrowed deeply. He moved his body cautiously, keeping his movements as small as possible.

He did his best to assess the new discomfort in his body.

Almost immediately, the system told him exactly what had happened.
