Chapter 1358: A Different Attitude
A private room at the Joy Restaurant.
Qin Ran sat beside the round table, while the makeup artist stood somewhat awkwardly by the door.
After bringing Qin Ran to the Joy Restaurant, Aike De had hurried away.
Too much had happened that night, and he needed to handle things personally. After all, only his personal involvement could produce the best results.
To avoid neglecting Qin Ran, the deputy station director had called over the makeup artist, who was on familiar terms with Qin Ran, before leaving-or at least, that was how he saw it.
As for the makeup artist?
Given the choice, he would never have wanted to appear before Qin Ran.
Their unpleasant exchange at lunch had sent him straight to the restaurant with the queue outside. He had wanted to find enough evidence to refute Qin Ran.

There had been no "then."
Qin Ran had once again proved himself right and the makeup artist wrong.
Under those circumstances, seeing Qin Ran again was truly awkward.
But what else could he do?
He was just a nobody scraping out a living in the television station's makeup room. Faced with an order from the deputy station director, he had no right to refuse.
He even had to keep Qin Ran happy, as the deputy station director had instructed.
Otherwise...
He could only return to the countryside and open a barbershop.

"W-what would you like to eat?"
After racking his brains, the makeup artist asked a pointless question that was not entirely pointless.
As soon as the words left his mouth, he gave an awkward smile.
But that smile immediately faded.
Because Qin Ran had raised his head and was looking at him with an impassive gaze.
