There were more than a dozen people in the carriage, every one of them fully armed, their eyes brimming with murderous intent as they looked over.
Without a doubt, they meant them harm.
Under their stares, Lor began trembling all over. He tugged at the Higher Evil Spirit's coat.
"Should we run?"
Lor made the suggestion in a hushed voice.
Run?
The Higher Evil Spirit curled its lip.
If running were an option, it would naturally have taken to its heels. But since the enemy had timed things so precisely and arranged an ambush aboard the Pseudo-Train in advance, there were bound to be plenty of backup measures around this street-and ones more difficult to deal with than the people before it.
So it absolutely could not run.

Not now!
It had to put some distance between them first!
"Get on."
The Higher Evil Spirit spoke to Lor, then boarded the Pseudo-Train itself.
Lor really wanted to run off on his own, but he lacked the courage. Almost as soon as the Higher Evil Spirit boarded the Pseudo-Train, he followed.

From beginning to end, he had been like a puppet, letting the Higher Evil Spirit lead him along.
Beep!
With an electronic beep, the Pseudo-Train's doors slowly closed.
Once the doors were fully shut, the people who had been sitting stood up one after another and slowly surrounded the Higher Evil Spirit and its two companions.
"Wait!"
The Higher Evil Spirit shouted, simultaneously drawing the dagger from Lor's waist. Then... it aimed it at its own neck.
The approaching people immediately stopped. Confusion showed in their eyes, but every weapon in their hands pointed at the Higher Evil Spirit.
"Easy! Easy!"
"I mean no harm!"
