The three figures entering the restaurant differed in height and build.
The leader was a tall, thin man with cold eyes and a stern face. Behind him were a short, skinny man and a tall, fat man.
The moment the two saw the middle-aged man, excitement appeared on their faces. The tall, fat one in particular was about to rush forward.
But the leader stopped him.
Clearly, the leader held considerable authority within the trio.
With just a glance from him, the tall, fat man immediately calmed down and followed behind him to the counter.
"What do you have to eat?"
The tall, thin man asked Qin Ran. His voice was clear, but his tone was extremely cold—almost frightening.
Qin Ran remained utterly unmoved and answered in his usual indifferent tone.
"What's on the sign outside."
The tall, thin man frowned.
He was somewhat surprised by Qin Ran's calmness, but he soon named the food he wanted.
"Three salt-and-pepper shrimp meals, three fried rice, and three chicken soups."
The tall, thin man said.
"Pay first."
"No credit."
Qin Ran did not get up and simply said so from where he sat.
Faced with Qin Ran's attitude, the two men behind the tall, thin man could barely suppress their anger. However, before their leader gave the signal, neither moved. They merely glared fiercely at Qin Ran.
"How much?"
The tall, thin man asked patiently.
"Salt-and-pepper shrimp meals are 50, fried rice is 15, chicken soup is 10. Three of each comes to 225."
Qin Ran quoted the price.
"Pay him."
The tall, thin man said to the short, skinny man behind him.
The other man immediately slapped the exact amount onto the counter.
"Your food had better be worth that price. Otherwise..."
The short, skinny man's words were full of threat.
