A flash erupted from the muzzle.
Then the heavy stench of gunpowder rushed into Amy's nostrils.
For the first time, she realized just how acrid gunpowder could smell.
Her eyes widened.
She watched Kelly Madden's head burst apart like a watermelon crushed beneath a truck.
Blood and brain matter sprayed everywhere.
Yet not one of the people around her panicked.
Instead, they laughed merrily and danced around Kelly Madden's corpse!
Even the housekeeper's corpse was hoisted up by two people and brought into the dance. One held her hands, the other pulled her legs, and her head swung back and forth to the rhythm.
Then, as Amy watched, they hurled the housekeeper's corpse high into the air.
It never came down.
Instead, it was impaled on the crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
Amy had never known a crystal chandelier could be so sharp.
Drip, drip.
Blood dripped down, drop by drop.
Then it sprayed out like water from a sprinkler truck.
The revelry began!
Everyone cheered at the top of their lungs and tore off their outer clothing. Even Richard Madden was no exception. The tycoon, dressed in a formal suit, ripped open the buttons of his shirt and strode toward Amy.
Instinctively, Amy took a step back.
When she saw him extend a hand in invitation, she turned and ran without hesitation.
But the moment she turned, the floor vanished beneath her feet.
