Thud, thud-thud!
The thunderous sound of warhorses approached. Though there were only a dozen or so horses, to Holleka and the other six, it felt like the charge of an entire army.
The closer they came, the more oppressive their presence became.
Stone and Bill felt every hair on the backs of their necks stand on end.
These were... the remnants of the Wolf School?
They studied the approaching Demon Hunters.
Most of these Demon Hunters were missing arms, legs, ears, or eyes. Very few were whole.
Yet every one of them filled them with dread.
It was as though any one of these people could step forward and crush them to death with one hand.
Cold sweat kept beading on their foreheads.
Gulp!
Bill's Adam's apple bobbed.
Then, he turned to look around.
He discovered that apart from Holleka, the other four, including Stone, had all been intimidated.
"Is this the Wolf School?"
Bill asked hoarsely.
"This is the Wolf School."
"The Wolf School that, at its height, stood alongside the Snake School."
Holleka replied evenly.
Was the Wolf School powerful?
Powerful!
Holleka would never deny that. But the Snake School was stronger. Holleka's "memories" told him so. Not to mention his mentor, the Snake School's heir; the forces the Snake School had hidden in the shadows alone outnumbered the Wolf School before them a hundredfold!
With such memories, Holleka naturally would not be intimidated.
But he did not neglect the proper etiquette.
After all, he was a Demon Hunter.
When the Wolf School members reined in their horses and stopped, Holleka saluted according to Demon Hunter custom. Stone, Bill, and the other three followed suit. They were Demon Hunters now as well.
And they were from the Snake School!
At that thought, the shock on Stone, Bill, and
