Three days.
Qin Ran and the sheriff had spent three days at the Danton Church. Apart from taking time to eat, they had cut even their rest to the bare minimum.
But the sheriff had found nothing.
"Are you sure these are all the books?"
After finishing the last book, the sheriff raised her head and asked Qin Ran, exhaustion written across her face.

Opening her car door, the sheriff asked with an air of casualness.
"You definitely wouldn't go there."
Qin Ran gave a suitably wry smile.
"Careful you don't become the Black Widow's next prey!"
The sheriff frowned and gave a soft snort.
"You don't think she'd help me for free, do you?"
Qin Ran spread his hands.
The sheriff said nothing more and simply stared at him. The look in her eyes made Qin Ran feel vaguely unsettled, even a little creeped out.
Fortunately, the sheriff soon looked away.
With another snort, she waved at Qin Ran without saying a word, then drove away.
Only after the sheriff's car disappeared
