Chapter 745: Crippled
The flat voice was like the bitter wind of the Far North.
The Hounds who heard it shuddered involuntarily.
Their companions' silent deaths finally struck a trace of fear into these notoriously vicious Hounds.
And the voice that rang out again only made that fear grow.
"The ninth!"
"The tenth!"
As two bodies hit the ground, the Hounds' numbers were cut in half!
The Hounds panicked!
Ever since they had joined the Elders Council and become Hounds, they had never encountered anything like this.
In every battle, they had hunted down their targets with an overwhelming advantage.
Now, however, the tables seemed to have turned!
That unfamiliar feeling left the Hounds increasingly alarmed and uncertain.
Each stood rooted to the spot, carefully setting up their own defenses.
From that moment on, anyone who approached them was an enemy.
As for Melanie's orders, they mattered even less.
Every remaining Hound ignored her commands.
Bastards!
Melanie cursed her companions inwardly.
At last, this Hound understood Qin Ran's intentions.
Qin Ran had never intended to escape. He truly meant to fight them to the death.
The thought of her earlier mistaken orders filled Melanie with anger. Especially after Qin Ran had exploited those very orders, her fury made her breathing grow heavy.
Still, Melanie had not lost her composure.
She knew that if they did not want Qin Ran to pick them off one by one, they had to clear away the dust before them!
With that thought, Melanie hesitated no longer.
A thumb-sized magical item shaped like a conch appeared in her hand.
The next instant, a gale blew out of it.
Whoosh!
The dust dispersed in the fierce wind.
The figures in the sewer became clear once more.
The Hounds saw one another.
They also saw... Qin Ran.
