The feeling of being watched vanished from Qin Ran's mind.
Qin Ran thought nothing of it.
He had made no deliberate effort to conceal his identity after entering Calhart Barracks. It was only natural that the Otherkind would discover him.
If the Otherkind running Calhart Barracks had failed to notice him under these circumstances, Qin Ran would have had to reconsider the true motives of the person lurking behind the scenes, constantly trying to provoke a fight between him and the Otherkind.
Fortunately, that had not happened.
Everything was unfolding just as he had expected.
Through Fire Crow's eyes, sharper than an eagle's, Qin Ran clearly saw a few changes at the heart of Calhart Barracks: after a crowd of fully armed people appeared, a carriage departed, heading straight toward the inn where he was staying.
"Reinhard, go welcome our guest!"
Qin Ran gave the order.
Once the pursuers' leader had left, Qin Ran narrowed his eyes.
He knew that whether the next stage succeeded would depend on his "performance."
That would not be easy for Qin Ran.
He had never encountered anyone like the character he was about to play.
He did not even have someone to imitate.
The Royal Clan!
And not just any Royal Clan, but that of the fallen Nick Dynasty!
Proud? Reserved?
Or should I maintain a dignified bearing?
Ideas surfaced in Qin Ran's mind, only to be rejected one after another.
Finally, when Qin Ran looked at Lie, a sharp gleam flashed through his narrowed eyes.
That's right!
He did not know how a member of a deposed dynasty's Royal Clan should behave.
But he knew how the emperor who had brought that dynasty to its peak had behaved.
Between Herbert's explanations and his own research, Qin Ran knew that emperor all too well.
