Aike was a member of the School Guard Unit.
After Qin Ran stopped him from approaching the carriage contaminated with deadly poison, he became exceptionally respectful toward Qin Ran. Especially after mistaking Qin Ran for Gonglansen, his reverence was plain to see.
The old nun had not explained Qin Ran's identity to everyone.
The only people who truly knew who he was were the old nun herself and Sheriff John.

Aike nodded and helped the old nun down from the carriage.
Qin Ran began examining the place known as 11 Lion Street.
This was undoubtedly a wealthy district. The detached buildings and their immaculate, luxurious exteriors made that clear.
Qin Ran walked toward the gates of 11 Lion Street.
The two iron gates had solid panels, with tall, sharp spikes thrusting skyward to deter anyone trying to climb over them.
On either side stood sturdy, solid stone walls.
Through the gap between the iron gates, Qin Ran could clearly see a wooden post for tethering a dog.
Clearly, the residents had taken their safety seriously.
However, defenses like these could only deal with petty thieves. Against genuinely ruthless people, they were completely useless.
That was even more true of people with extensive ties to the mystery side.
Indeed, this temporary base had been seized by force.
As for the people who had originally lived here?
The answer went without saying.
