As the cloth was lifted, the beast's growls instantly more than doubled in volume, allowing Qin Ran to see clearly what kind of beast was making them.

It had gray-and-white fur, a small body, ice-blue eyes, and upright ears. Though still young, the teeth it bared were already stark white and sharp.

What interested Qin Ran most, however, was that this beast, which looked somewhere between a dog and a wolf, spat a breath of frost at him as soon as it saw the light again.

"With frost wolf blood running through its veins, it is a natural wielder of frost, favored by the shadows. With careful feeding and care, it will become an exceptional fighting asset once it reaches adulthood."

Angsco explained.

"Not bad."

"But it isn't enough as a bargaining chip!"

Qin Ran smiled and shook his head.

"Of course!"

"It is merely my welcoming gift to you, entirely unrelated to our actual transaction. Whether you agree or not, it will be yours."

"Otherwise, if Priestess Lilith gets angry, this outpost we worked so hard to establish will be destroyed."

He spoke half-jokingly.

Qin Ran certainly did not believe that the Love Temple was the only protection Angsco had here.
