Five hundred years ago, a witch stood before an angel, protecting the witches abandoned by the human world.
Angel: "Daughter of Theia, why aren't you obediently letting your mother eat you along with your sisters? Why are you blocking my path?" A trace of mockery surfaced on the angel's exquisite face.
Witch: "This is my territory. They are my prey. I should be the one to eat them." The witch bared a mouthful of fangs. This was not a figure of speech, but a statement of fact.
The angel looked even more disdainful. "Lowly demons truly are barbaric, gnawing raw flesh and drinking blood like primitive savages."
The witch did not care in the slightest and sneered, "Is wiping out every woman born with magical talent the mercy of your god?"
The angel wore a proud expression. "All power comes from my god. They are merely thieves who have stolen my god's power."
The witch made a retching gesture and said contemptuously, "Hypocritical birdman."
The angel snapped, "Witch, for Theia's sake, I will not argue with you. Hand over the rebels behind you."
The witch gave a light laugh. "How quickly you change. Thieves one moment, rebels the next. All it takes is for your upper and lower lips to touch."
The angel drew a holy sword wreathed in sacred light. Seemingly wary of something, she did not dare strike. Perhaps she had remembered that these humans would either be eaten by the witch before her or devoured by other demons. Either way, death awaited them.
With that thought, the angel's desire to act faded. Retreat had already entered her mind. With a flap of her wings, she vanished into the skies of Hell.
