New York's night was still aglow with neon.
Su Ming's spaceship slowly descended into a hidden base on the outskirts of the city.
Before landing, Su Ming had specifically instructed Wanda to use Chaos Magic to cloak the ship.
So as not to cause too much of a stir.
It was enough for those people at the top to lose sleep. Su Ming had no intention of keeping ordinary people awake as well.
The hatch opened, and the group stepped out.
Loki straightened his slightly wrinkled, luxurious robe.
He looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar sight of Earth before him.
Recalling the scene that had just shocked the entire world, his eyes darted about.
He sidled up to Su Ming.
His face wore his signature sly smile, one that appeared harmless.
Then, in an exceedingly "polite," even somewhat flattering tone, he asked again in a low voice:
"Um... esteemed Mr. Su.
I still believe...
that you need someone familiar with the affairs of the Nine Realms, someone with extensive management experience... hmm, an 'advisor.'"
His eyes gleamed with anticipation.
It was as if he could already see the wonderful future in which he threw his weight around under the new order.
"Still not giving up?"
Su Ming glanced at him. How could he not see through Loki's little scheme?
"Perhaps... if there is a need, I might consider it... who knows..."
It was a textbook noncommittal answer.
Yet Loki's eyes saw a glimmer of hope for "ruling the world."
Loki suppressed the smile tugging at his lips and gave an elegant bow.
"I will not fail you, Mr. Su."
Thor scratched his head, still unused to his short hair.
His face was full of confusion.
"What's so good about managing that many people...?"
The smile on Loki's face stiffened slightly.
