A Sacred Domain Powerhouse?

"Captain Olong, you're a sixth-rank warrior, the strongest in the convoy. Take Kevin and leave. He's our only hope. Make sure you teach him well..."

Mia waved a hand. Captain Olong gritted his teeth and seized Kevin despite his struggles. After bowing respectfully to Mia, he turned and fled with Kevin.

Without Olong, their only sixth-rank warrior, the convoy stood even less chance against the beasts. Still, they had to prepare.

"All knights, form ranks! Ready your lances! Defend them to the death!"

"Defend them to the death!"

There was no fear in the knights' eyes. They were veterans who had fought Barbarians and beasts more times than they could count. For the honor of knighthood, they would not retreat a single step.

Rumble!

The ground began to shake. Dust rose from the distant horizon, blotting out the sky. The scale of the beast tide was terrifying.

Mia gently closed her eyes. She could no longer cling to the slightest hope.

I hope Kevin survives...

Perhaps that was Mia's final thought.

"Ready your lances!"

Mia had given up hope, but the knights would never sit and wait for death. They were brave knights of the Mantra Lineage, warriors who had fought their way through piles of Barbarian corpses.

More than a hundred knights raised their lances. The weapons appeared to be forged from some special metal and were immensely heavy, yet in the knights' hands, they seemed weightless.

Cold light gleamed along their sharp points as the knights waited for their first bloody clash with the beast tide.

Whoosh...

A sudden gale swept toward them. The beasts at the front seemed to run even more frantically, as though something dreadful were chasing them. Creatures that were normally savage now wore only expressions of fear.
