Ch. 513Tremor at Glory Palace!

Merlin returned to Glory Palace and revealed that Mogan had accepted him as a disciple, gaining a residence among Mogan’s former disciples. He began deriving his remaining Fifth-Level Spells and, after Matrix completed them, prepared to construct them and become a Fifth-level Spellcaster.

  • Merlin returned to Glory Palace, told Dara to relay instructions to Mingye and Madam Feli, and said he would remain behind.
  • Merlin showed Mage Greet Mogan’s Nameplate and announced that Mogan had accepted him as a disciple, surprising the gathered Glory Mages.
  • Mage Greet confirmed Merlin’s identity and led him to a quiet courtyard reserved for Mogan’s disciples.
  • Merlin asked Matrix to derive Fifth-Level Spells for his ice and lightning elements, using the Thunder Law.
  • Matrix completed the new spells, and Merlin prepared to construct them in his Sea of Consciousness.

Ch. 514Challenging the Puppet (Part One)

Merlin became a Fifth-level Mage, used Divinity to greatly strengthen his Mind Power, and perfected the fusion of wind and ice spells. After three months in seclusion, he went to Glory Pavilion to seek Spiritual Secret Arts and found Mage Hodge challenging a black puppet.

  • Merlin simulated Ice Storm and Thunder Annihilation Technique, becoming a Fifth-level Mage.
  • Merlin used Divinity to expand and compress his Special Mental Core, raising his Mind Power to nearly that of an ordinary Eighth-level Spellcaster.
  • Merlin reflected on merging his spells, then spent three months finding the critical point to fuse wind-type and ice-type spells.
  • Merlin left his courtyard and headed to Glory Pavilion to look for Spiritual Secret Arts.
  • Merlin saw Mage Hodge challenge a black puppet with Ninth Level Spells, but the puppet gained the upper hand.

Ch. 515Challenging the Puppets (Part Two)

Merlin challenged Number Two to test his fused spells and defeated the puppet with Ice Storm and repeated lightning strikes. After revealing he had advanced to Fifth Level, he moved to challenge Number Three, confident his speed would keep him safe.

  • Merlin learned that Glory Palace Spellcasters tested their strength by challenging Mage Mogan's puppets, and he chose to challenge Number Two.
  • Merlin slowed Number Two with Ice Dominion, then trapped it with Ice Storm and struck it repeatedly with lightning until it fell.
  • The gathered Glory Mages realized Merlin had become a Fifth-level Spellcaster and praised his victory over Number Two.
  • A Gray-Robed Mage warned Merlin that Number Three was comparable to a Ninth-level Spellcaster, but Merlin cast Wind Without a Trace and arrived before it.

Ch. 516The Terrifying Fusion Spell

Merlin challenged Number Three and defeated it with a powerful Fusion Spell, proving his attack strength could rival an ordinary Ninth-level Spellcaster. As he prepared to leave for Glory Pavilion, a Vortex and a huge spatial rift appeared in the sky.

  • Merlin challenged Number Three and dodged its attacks, but his spells could not damage the puppet.
  • Merlin revealed a Fusion Spell combining fire and lightning, astonishing the Glory Mages watching him.
  • Merlin struck Number Three with the Fusion Spell and left the puppet charred and unable to move.
  • Merlin decided to head to Glory Pavilion after testing his strength against Number Three.
  • A Vortex appeared in the clear sky, and a huge black spatial rift emerged at its center.

Ch. 517Marauder (Part One)

An unfamiliar Legendary Mage attempted to enter the Plane, and Mage Mogan drove him into the Void Realm to fight. There, Mogan discovered the intruder was a Marauder who intended to steal the Plane’s Wind Origin, and he prepared to stop him.

  • A massive Vortex and spatial rift appeared above Glory Palace as an unfamiliar Legendary Mage tried to enter the Plane.
  • Mage Mogan used the Ice Law to freeze and shatter the rift, then pursued the intruder into the Void Realm to avoid damaging the Plane.
  • Mage Greet calmed the Mages at Glory Palace and told Merlin that Mogan believed he could handle the invader.
  • In the Void Realm, the blue-robed Mage said he wanted the Plane’s Wind Origin to help him condense the Wind Law.
  • Mage Mogan recognized the intruder as a Marauder and resolved to prevent him from entering the Plane.

Ch. 518Marauder (Part 2)

Mogan confronted a Marauder who sought to steal the Wind Origin from his Plane, and drove him off by threatening to trap him and summon other Legendary Mages. Merlin continued experimenting with spell fusion until Mogan summoned him back through a spatial passage.

  • The blue-robed Marauder demanded the Wind Origin, and Mogan warned that plundering it would gradually turn the Plane barren.
  • The two Legendary Mages fought with Flame Law and Ice Law, but neither could overpower the other.
  • Mogan threatened to trap the Marauder inside the Plane and call nearby Legendary Mages to attack him if he invaded.
  • The Marauder decided not to risk entering the Plane and left, and Mogan returned to stabilize the situation.
  • Merlin practiced merging spells and reflected on his weakness compared with the unfamiliar Legendary Mage.
  • Mogan opened a spatial passage and called Merlin to him, and Merlin entered it at once.

Ch. 519Secrets of Six-Element Mages

Merlin learned that the Legendary Mage who attacked the castle was a Marauder who plundered Planes’ Elemental Origin, and Mogan explained the ranks and dangers of Legendary Mages. Merlin realized his Six-Element talent could make him exceptionally powerful after becoming a Great Mage, but Mogan urged him to focus on Spell Models rather than Spiritual Secret Arts.

  • Merlin entered the castle and asked Mogan about the mysterious Legendary Mage, who had already left.
  • Mogan explained that Marauders refined Planes’ Elemental Origin to condense Laws, despite the harm they caused to Spellcasters and the Legendary Pact’s inability to restrain them.
  • Merlin asked about Legendary ranks, and Mogan described ordinary Laws, Supreme Laws, and the strength of Titled Legends.
  • Mogan told Merlin that his Six-Element talent could make him an exceptionally powerful Great Mage and might let him condense six Laws if he became Legendary.
  • Merlin asked Mogan for a Spiritual Secret Art, but Mogan advised him to concentrate on constructing Spell Models and advancing toward Great Magehood.

Ch. 520Yato Plane (Part One)

Merlin agreed to pursue Spiritual Secret Arts, and Mage Mogan promised to help him obtain a top-tier art and a treasure from the Ato Mage. After confirming the Marauder had left, Mogan took Merlin through the Void Realm toward the Yato Plane aboard a fast flying-boat casting tool.

  • Merlin told Mage Mogan that cultivating Spiritual Secret Arts might help him derive new Spells, and Mogan arranged for him to meet a top-tier Mental Mystic on the Yato Plane.
  • Mage Mogan promised Merlin a treasure as his disciple and said he would seek one from the Ato Mage.
  • Merlin practiced Spell fusion for several days and became able to fuse his wind and ice Spells and his fire and lightning Spells with a single thought.
  • After confirming the Marauder had gone, Mage Mogan brought Merlin out of the Mogan Plane and explained that the Void Realm had no elements, space, or flow of time.
  • Mage Mogan took Merlin aboard a flying-boat casting tool that would carry them to the Yato Plane in about a month.

Ch. 521Yato Plane (Part 2)

Merlin accompanied Mage Mogan to the Yato Plane, learning how Plane Coordinates and a map guided travel through the Void Realm. Mage Mogan reunited with Mage Yato to seek help against the Marauders, but their discussion paused as Yato introduced his gifted disciple, Eshir.

  • Mage Mogan gave Merlin the Yato Plane’s Plane Coordinate, and Merlin used the map to understand how coordinates guided their flight boat’s route.
  • After nearly a month of travel, Merlin and Mage Mogan reached the Yato Plane, where Mage Yato welcomed them and brought them to his palace.
  • Mage Mogan told Mage Yato that Marauders had arrived at his Plane but that he had driven them away.
  • Violent elemental fluctuations outside prompted Mage Yato to praise his disciple Eshir and summon him to greet Mage Mogan.

Ch. 522Edge of the Blade (Part 1)

Mage Mogan introduced his disciple Merlin to Mage Ato and asked for the Mental Mystic Oseus to teach him Spiritual Secret Arts. While they waited for Oseus, Eshir challenged Merlin to a spell duel, and Merlin accepted.

  • Mage Ato praised Eshir, explaining that his disciple had reached his current power in seventy-five years and could have advanced in forty by using ordinary Seventh-Level Spells.
  • Mage Mogan introduced Merlin as his new disciple and asked Mage Ato to summon Oseus so Merlin could learn Spiritual Secret Arts.
  • Mage Ato tested Merlin with oppressive mental power, and Merlin formed mental armor to withstand it.
  • Mage Ato summoned Oseus and said the Mental Mystic was returning to the palace, so the group waited.
  • Eshir challenged Merlin to a spar, and Merlin agreed to face him.

Ch. 523Edge (Part Two)

Merlin defeated Eshir in a spar by using two Fusion Spells, while Ato Mage stopped his final attack from becoming fatal. As Eshir resolved to improve and challenge Merlin again, a man in a long black cloak appeared at the palace doors.

  • Ato Mage created a Wind Law barrier for Merlin and Eshir to spar inside.
  • Merlin trapped Eshir in ice with a Fusion Spell combining Wind and Ice, then struck with a more powerful Fusion Spell combining Fire and Lightning.
  • Ato Mage intervened before Merlin's attack could kill Eshir and declared Merlin the winner.
  • Eshir admitted his shortcomings but vowed to learn Fusion Spells and challenge Merlin again.
  • Ato Mage advised Eshir to become a Ninth Level Spellcaster before attempting to fuse all his spells.
  • A man wearing a long black cloak appeared as the palace doors opened.

Ch. 524Trial

Mage Oseus agreed to teach Merlin his Spiritual Secret Arts if Merlin passed a trial in a place inhabited by spirit bodies. Merlin accepted after Black Cat Didimos revealed that devouring spirit bodies might let him become a true lifeform, and Mage Ato and Mage Mogan watched as Merlin and Oseus set out.

  • Mage Mogan asked Oseus to teach Merlin his top-tier Spiritual Secret Arts, and Oseus agreed on the condition that Merlin pass a trial.
  • Mage Mogan bristled at Oseus's condition, but Mage Ato defended Oseus and explained his contributions to the Yato Plane.
  • Oseus described a spirit-body training ground where Merlin had to defeat a spirit body comparable to a Peak Eighth Level spell caster in its deepest layer.
  • Black Cat Didimos urged Merlin to accept, explaining that devouring spirit bodies might let him become a lifeform and avoid fading away.
  • Merlin accepted the trial, and Oseus led him away while Mage Ato created an image so he and Mage Mogan could watch.

Ch. 526Fifth Form!

Merlin and Oseus watched a war in the Yato Plane, where the battlefield’s immense negative emotions rapidly strengthened Merlin’s Dark Eye. Although Merlin had intended to avoid its dangerous fifth form, he began drawing in the battlefield’s emotions to force its transformation.

  • Merlin and Oseus arrived above a city in the Yato Plane and saw Spellcasters fighting alongside two armies.
  • The Dark Eye absorbed the battlefield’s negative emotions, and Merlin suppressed its growing backlash with his spiritual power.
  • Merlin decided that the Dark Eye’s fifth form could wait because he preferred to improve his Fusion Spells and Spiritual Secret Arts.
  • A blood-red eye formed around Merlin as he began forcibly drawing negative emotions from the battlefield.
  • Oseus sensed Merlin’s involvement as the Dark Eye grew more distinct and neared the power needed to kill Ninth-level Spellcasters.

Ch. 527Arrived

Merlin and Oseus crossed a war-torn region of the Yato Plane, where Merlin’s Dark Eye stirred fear among the armies below. They arrived at a forest clearing, where Oseus met three Seventh-level Spellcasters who had not yet passed his trial.

  • Merlin’s Dark Eye appeared as a giant ghostly face, frightening both armies and drawing the attention of spellcasters below.
  • Merlin stopped absorbing the crowd’s negative emotions and asked Oseus whether the Yato Plane’s wars hindered its development; Oseus explained that order, not peace, determined a Plane’s progress.
  • Wizard Mogan and the Ato Mage watched Merlin, recognized the Dark Eye, and discussed Merlin’s origins in the declining Land of Glory.
  • Oseus and Merlin flew to a forest clearing, where three Seventh-level Spellcasters greeted Oseus as their mentor.
  • Oseus told the three spellcasters that they were not his disciples until they passed the trial.

Ch. 528Mental Storm

Merlin joined Damsi, Frey, and Goyado for Mage Oseus's test in a cave filled with spirit monsters. The trio's Mental Storm destroyed the monsters and revealed that their remnants could strengthen mental power, which Merlin began absorbing.

  • Oseus introduced Merlin to Damsi, Frey, and Goyado, who were also taking his test to become his disciples.
  • Damsi explained the group's background and arranged for them to cooperate with Merlin in reaching the cave's innermost layer.
  • Merlin and the others entered the cave, where sunlight exposed the nearly invisible spirit monsters.
  • Damsi, Frey, and Goyado used Mental Storm together, wiping out the spirit monsters in the cave.
  • Merlin discovered that the monsters left behind energy that could strengthen mental power and began absorbing it with his Mental Core.

Ch. 530Didimos's Stunning Revelation!

Merlin’s powerful Mental Core absorbed most of the cave’s spirit-body energy, allowing Black Cat Didimos to consume the remainder and begin transforming into a true life-form. As Merlin and Damsi’s group continued deeper into the cave, Mage Mogan and Mage Ato recognized Didimos’s extraordinary potential, and Mogan considered bringing Merlin to the City of Arcane.

  • Merlin’s Mental Core absorbed more spirit-body energy than Damsi, Frey, and Goyado combined, and Damsi deduced that Merlin possessed a powerful Special Mental Core.
  • Black Cat Didimos asked Merlin to stop taking the spirit-body energy, then devoured the remaining white points of light to advance his transformation into a life-form.
  • Didimos released a Rune Formation to gather the energy, shocking Damsi and the others before he returned to Merlin’s shoulder to digest it.
  • Damsi explained that a spirit body transforming into a life-form could gain immense power, and she led Merlin and the others farther into the cave.
  • Mage Mogan and Mage Ato realized Didimos might become a formidable life-form, and Mogan admitted that he had little left to teach Merlin and considered taking him to the City of Arcane.

Ch. 531Holy Land

Merlin and his companions ventured deeper into a cave, absorbing the white specks left by spirit monsters while an underground cult prepared to stop them. When the group found the cave’s deeper levels empty, two empowered Spell Casters emerged and threatened to kill them for trespassing in the Holy Land.

  • Damsi led Frey, Goyado, and Merlin through the cave, where the group’s combined Mental Storm destroyed bat-like spirit creatures.
  • Merlin let Black Cat Didimos absorb the white specks with a Rune Formation, and the cat gathered more than the others combined.
  • An old man in black sent Itela and Omir, two Peak Eighth Level Spell Casters, to kill the intruders after blessing them with protection from Spiritual Secret Arts.
  • Damsi’s group reached a cave level devoid of spirit monsters, and Merlin noticed their aura had recently moved deeper inside.
  • As Damsi prepared to lead the group toward the innermost level, Itela and Omir emerged from the shadows and declared that trespassers in the Holy Land would die.

Ch. 533Sky God (Part 1)

Damsi, Frey, and Goyado were ambushed by Itela and Omir, whose mysterious divine power blocked their Spiritual Secret Arts. As the group faced death, Merlin used the fourth form of the Dark Eye to strip the attackers of their elemental powers and burn them to ashes.

  • Damsi ordered an attack, but Itela and Omir used white light to block the group's Mental Storm and launched powerful wind and fire Spells.
  • Mage Frey recognized Itela and Omir as Peak Eighth Level Mages who had disappeared years earlier.
  • Mage Ato offered to rescue Merlin, but Mage Mogan trusted Merlin to handle the two attackers.
  • Damsi, Frey, and Goyado prepared to die as the Spells overwhelmed them, while Damsi's Mental Core began to break through.
  • Merlin summoned the Dark Eye and used its control over the elements to extinguish the incoming Spells and sever Itela and Omir's connection to the elements.
  • Merlin pointed at Itela and Omir, setting them ablaze until they were reduced to ashes.

Ch. 534Sky God (Part 2)

Merlin, Damsi, Frey, and Goyado entered the cave’s deepest chamber and attacked the gathered spirit creatures, while a hidden servant awakened the Sky God. The Sky God revealed himself across the Yato Plane, and Mage Mogan and the Ato Mage rushed toward Merlin’s location.

  • Merlin and his companions chose to continue into the cave after defeating Itela and Omir, despite Goyado’s hesitation.
  • Merlin, Damsi, Frey, and Goyado found the gathered spirit creatures and began killing them, while Black Cat Didimos devoured them.
  • A powerful spirit creature emerged, and Damsi and Merlin prepared to attack it together.
  • The old man in black awakened the Sky God, who declared that he would fight to reclaim the Plane.
  • The Sky God’s aura spread across the Yato Plane, and Mage Mogan and the Ato Mage sensed the danger and traveled toward Merlin.

Ch. 535God's Finger!

Merlin and his companions killed the strongest spirit creature, but the Sky God awakened beneath the cave and attacked them with divine power. The Ato Mage arrived to confront the god, but the Sky God struck Merlin again before he could intervene.

  • Black Cat Didimos swallowed the white lights released by the strongest spirit creature after Merlin, Damsi, and he defeated it.
  • Merlin prepared to hunt the remaining spirit creatures, but the cave shook as a terrifying power awakened underground.
  • The Sky God emerged and restrained Merlin, then killed Damsi, Frey, and Goyado with a finger of divine power.
  • The Flame Law, Ice Law, and Thunder Law protected Merlin's body, but the Sky God's power invaded his Sea of Consciousness and threatened his Spell Models.
  • The Ato Mage arrived and declared that he would destroy the Sky God's Divinity, but the Sky God struck Merlin again before the Ato Mage could stop him.
