"I will teach you everything I know about space, time, and dimensions. That knowledge should be enough for you to complete the construction of your little door."
Lin An was not surprised that Death knew about the World Gate. As one of the most powerful beings in the Harry Potter Universe, there was probably nothing it did not know and nothing it could not hide.
Lin An guessed that, if not for strict restrictions, Death should have been able to do whatever it wanted in this universe.
"That's it? That's all I get?" Lin An asked reluctantly.
"What else do you want? To control Law Force? In this world, only two people can control Law Force: Merlin and Morgan le Fay. However, that has nothing to do with their talent or understanding of magic," Death replied calmly.
So the power I sensed within those Deathly Hallows really was the power of laws. Lin An showed no unusual reaction on his face.
"What do you mean by that?" Lin An asked. He truly was interested in those two legendary figures.
"You should not know these secrets," Death answered mysteriously. This annoyed Lin An, or at least, that was how it appeared.
He could guess some of the details Death had referred to.
Thinking carefully, those two were highly suspicious. Across countless universes and dimensions, legends of them or some incarnation of them existed. Why was that? What made them so special that their existence could span multiple Multiverses and dimensions?
Were these different versions of them clones of some truly powerful being? Was there some kind of connection between them? And just how powerful did one have to be to exist across countless dimensions?
Lin An had seriously considered these questions before. He believed that perhaps one day, he would find their answers.
Meanwhile, Death saw the annoyed look on Lin An's face and felt greatly pleased. Their last meeting had left it brooding, so making Edward uncomfortable this time also made it happy.
"Then, do we have a deal?" Death asked.
"No problem, but we still need to sign a binding magical contract."
Lin An signed the contract. Unfortunately, Death saw through every little trick he had tried to use with Demonic Language and erased them. Lin An's expression darkened somewhat, while Death thoroughly enjoyed itself.
After the contract was signed, Lin An made another request:
"I need you to duplicate a Resurrection Stone. It does not need any special abilities, but its appearance must be exactly the same as the original."
"No problem," Death replied. Then it waved a hand, and another stone identical to the original Resurrection Stone appeared before him. However, Lin An could not sense any mysterious power contained within it.
"I suppose you intend to use this stone to plot the death of the greatest white wizard of this century," Death said.
"How did you know?" Lin An asked, his face full of shock.
"Hehe, mortal, you will never understand how profound my power is."
Lin An's expression turned grave. He took out the fake stone and vanished from the white room. Yet even as he left, he could still hear Death's laughter echoing through the room.
After returning to reality, the gloomy, fearful expression on Lin An's face vanished, replaced by a faint sneer.
As a powerful Occlumens, he could easily control all his emotions, so how could he have behaved like that before Death?
After sitting down, he began to think over everything he had learned from his conversation with Death.
First, Death possessed the ability to foresee the time of others' deaths. This had been demonstrated when it foresaw the deaths of Voldemort and Dumbledore. However, this ability was not absolute.
If I'm not mistaken, the Peverell Brothers in the story should have died while crossing the bridge, but somehow they escaped Death's pursuit. That was why Death appeared and used the Deathly Hallows to lure them toward death.
Second, although Death is a powerful God, it still possesses all sorts of human emotions. It can become angry, frustrated, and so on. Not to mention its immense pride and its desire to display its own power.
Lin An then spent several hours thinking over his conversation with Death and reviewing every piece of information he might have unknowingly revealed.
Afterward, Lin An entered his "Mind Palace," where every book he had read appeared before him in the form of a massive library. Due to its enormous scale, it resembled a city more than a traditional library. All the books were clearly categorized; Lin An only needed to think of the book or knowledge he wished to review, and it would immediately appear before him.
Then, he found a book he had written himself. Its title was simple: Analysis of Death. He began updating it with all the information he had gained from their discussion today.
