"I'll pass on all my knowledge of space, time, and dimensions to you. This knowledge should be enough for you to complete the construction of your little gate."
Ian wasn't surprised that the Grim Reaper knew about the World Gate. As one of the most powerful beings in the Harry Potter Universe, there was probably nothing he didn't know and nothing he couldn't hide.
Ian guessed that if it weren't for the strict restrictions placed on him, the Grim Reaper could do whatever he wanted in this universe.
"That's it? That's all I get?" Ian asked, somewhat unwillingly.
"What else do you want? Control over the Law Force? In this world, only two people can control the Law Force: Merlin and Morgan le Fay. However, this has nothing to do with their talent or understanding of magic." The Grim Reaper answered calmly.
So the power I sensed in the Deathly Hallows really was the power of laws. Ian thought to himself, though his face showed no unusual reaction.
"What do you mean by that?" Ian asked. He was genuinely interested in those two legendary figures.
"You shouldn't know these secrets." The Grim Reaper replied mysteriously. This irritated Ian greatly, or at least that was how it appeared on the surface.
He could guess some of the details the Grim Reaper was referring to.
Thinking about it carefully, those two were extremely suspicious. Across countless universes and dimensions, legends of them—or of some incarnation of them—existed. Why was that? What made them so special that their existence could span multiple Multiverses and dimensions?
Were these different versions of them clones of some truly powerful being? Was there some connection between them? And how powerful would someone have to be to reach the point of existing across countless dimensions?
Ian had seriously considered these questions before. He believed that perhaps one day, he would find the answers.
Meanwhile, the Grim Reaper was delighted when he saw the annoyed expression on Ian's face. Their previous meeting had left a bitter impression on him, so making Edward uncomfortable this time pleased him greatly.
"So, have we reached an agreement?" the Grim Reaper asked.
"No problem, but we still need to sign a binding magical contract."
Ian signed the contract. Unfortunately, the Grim Reaper saw through all the little tricks he had played using the Demonic Language and erased them. This made Ian's expression rather ugly, but the Grim Reaper was thoroughly enjoying himself.
After the contract was signed, Ian made another request:
"I need you to duplicate a Resurrection Stone. It doesn't need any special abilities, but its appearance must be exactly the same as the original."
"No problem," the Grim Reaper replied. Then he waved his hand, and another stone identical to the original Resurrection Stone appeared before them. However, Ian couldn't sense any mysterious power contained within it.
"I'm guessing you plan to use this stone to plot the death of the greatest white wizard of the century," the Grim Reaper said.
"How did you know?" Ian asked, his face filled with shock.
"Heh heh, mortal. You can never comprehend the depth of my power."
Ian's expression turned solemn. He then took out the fake stone and vanished from the white room. Even after he left, however, he could still hear the Grim Reaper's laughter echoing through the room.
After returning to reality, the gloomy, frightened expression on Ian's face disappeared, replaced by a trace of a cold smile.
As a powerful Occlumens, he could easily control all his emotions. So how could he have acted that way in front of the Grim Reaper?
After sitting down, he began considering everything he had learned from his conversation with the Grim Reaper.
First, the Grim Reaper possessed the ability to predict the time of other people's deaths. This had been demonstrated when he predicted the deaths of Voldemort and Dumbledore. However, this ability was not absolute.
"If I'm not mistaken, the Peverell Brothers in the story should have died while crossing the bridge, but somehow they evaded the Grim Reaper's pursuit. That's why the Grim Reaper appeared and used the Deathly Hallows to lure them toward death."
"Second, although the Grim Reaper is a powerful god, he still possesses all kinds of human emotions. He gets angry, frustrated, and so on. Not to mention his intense pride and his desire to display his own power."
Ian then spent several hours thinking about his conversation with the Grim Reaper and reviewing all the information he might have revealed without realizing it.
Afterward, Ian entered his "Mind Palace." All the books he had read appeared before him in the form of a vast library. Because of its enormous scale, the library resembled a city more than a traditional library. Every book was clearly categorized. Ian only needed to think of the books or knowledge he wanted to review, and they would immediately appear before him.
Then he found a book he had written himself. Its title was simple: Analysis of Death. He began updating it with all the information he had gained from today's discussion.
