Avengers Training: S.H.I.E.L.D.

After gaining the knowledge needed to save his parents, Tony would never entrust something so important to someone else, especially since he already knew what to do. Therefore, he decided to handle it himself, though he would heed Ian (Edward)'s advice on how to proceed.

Tony's training ended quickly because Ian took a more hands-off approach with him. Afterward, he summoned three members of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Fury, Coulson, and Maria Hill. As soon as they arrived, they looked around the pure-white room.

"I'd like to file a complaint," Coulson said.

"What about?" Ian asked.

"Why does everyone else get one-on-one training, while the three of us are lumped together?"

"That's a reasonable complaint." Ian nodded. "The test is about to begin. You only need to stand in front of that sphere."

"You're not even going to respond?"

"Do you want me to be a bastard and tell you the cold, hard truth?"

"Forget it," Coulson said, sounding a little hurt. Fury and Maria, however, remained calm. They knew they weren't heroes. They had the qualities of heroes, but fundamentally, they understood that they were government employees. So they continued with the test. Ian looked at the results, and a strange expression flashed through his eyes.

Well, at least there are some normal results, Morgana commented.

Indeed. Aside from Fury, the other two had fairly ordinary results, but that was only by the standards of the Avengers. By any other standard—even the Empire's—they were outstanding. Ian pondered how he should train them.

"Is something wrong?" Fury asked.

"No," Ian reassured him. "Though perhaps there is." He changed his mind, leaving everyone looking at him in confusion.

"Do you know what your greatest talent is?" he asked Fury, who shook his head.
