Losing those spacecraft did place psychological pressure on her, but it also eased her mental burden, since she no longer needed to control so many ships. With more surplus psychic energy, she could maneuver the surviving spacecraft with greater precision.

After several hours of fierce fighting, Maria won the battle, but her fleet had been reduced to just over ten thousand spacecraft. The simulation system gave her an [S]-rank evaluation, the second-highest rating after [S+]. It was the highest score anyone had ever achieved in this test.

Ian nodded approvingly when he saw it. In the Empire, [S+] was the theoretical limit of this test, and only seven people had ever obtained that score: the artificial intelligence and six others, including Ian's wife, Olivia.
