"No problem."

Fatima nodded and continued addressing the team. "Once the flame is dealt with, we'll move on to the next step: breaking down the soul." The team stared at her. This time, everyone thought she looked like a madwoman.

"We need to remove every corrupted part. You don't need to be gentle, and you don't have to worry about affecting the healthy parts of the soul—just clear away the death energy," Fatima continued. "Once that's done, our next step is to rebuild the connections between them and allow the Soulfire to regenerate the soul. We need to provide the flame with sufficient Soul Energy, but that isn't something we need to worry about."

The room fell terrifyingly silent. After a long while, the lead surgeon's assistant muttered, "This might work." Everyone knew that Soulfire was the soul's primary source, so as long as it remained intact, there was a chance it could regenerate a complete soul.
