In 1935, two years had passed since the plot of <The Mummy 2> ended.
Ian is sitting in a comfortable armchair, holding a book titled <Negative Energy Analysis>, which Hermione wrote based on her recent research results.
He held an old-fashioned British pipe in his hand, filled with tobacco that he personally prepared and contained special magical herbs that could relax the mind, relieve anxiety, stimulate inspiration, and speed up thinking.
While he was puffing and reading, the door opened and two people walked in. They were wearing quite elegant dresses.
"I know it's a child's birthday dinner, but it's only nine o'clock in the evening. Why are you back so early?"
"Severus is still as irritable as ever, so we had to leave early," Lily replied helplessly while hanging up her coat. Although she complained, she had a cheerful smile on her face.
"So, what happened this time? Did you quarrel with Rick again?" Ian looked at Snape, "You should give that man some respect. After all, today is the tenth birthday of his son Alex."
"Humph, that guy is just a brainless fool," Snape snorted coldly, obviously still angry.
Ian smiled and didn't say much. Ever since Snape was forced to "take care of children" in this world a few years ago - that is, to monitor O'Connell's family, a strange competitive relationship has formed between him and Rick·O'Connell.
The two often quarrel with each other and dislike each other, but they can cooperate tacitly at critical moments.
"Where is Hermione?" Lily asked.
"She is in the laboratory. Her recent research on using Negative Energy to conduct Space Folding has reached a critical moment," Ian replied, closing the book in his hand.
"What about you? I see that you seem to be in a particularly good mood these days. Have you discovered anything new?"
"Indeed," Ian stood up and walked to the huge holographic projection table in the center of the room, "I found a way to locate other worlds."
When Lily and Snape heard this, their expressions suddenly became serious.
"How did you do it?"
"Remember 'Moon's Tears' and 'Eye of Shangri-La'?"
The two nodded.
"Eye of Shangri-La itself is the key that opens the door to Shangri-La. It contains some kind of spatial coordinate guidance function."
"And Moon's Tears, as we studied before, contains a weak Divine Authority."
"I combined the two. I used Divine Authority to amplify the guidance function Infinity of Eye of Shangri-La. It is no longer limited to finding a certain place on the earth, but points to... more distant places."
Following the operation of Ian, a huge tree with a faint light appeared on the holographic projection stage.
This tree has no entity, but is composed of countless light points and energy lines.
"This is...World Tree?" Lily covered her mouth in surprise.
"You can call it that. In Norse mythology, it is called Yggdrasil. This tree connects Nine Realms, which is nine different worlds."
"I used Divine Authority as a 'radar' and scanned the surrounding Void. Although I couldn't see the complete World Tree, I found these 'leaves'."
Ian points to several Blink light spots on the hologram.
"These are all planes or universes that have some connection to the world we are currently in."
"I tried to detect one of them," Ian zoomed in on one of the light spots. "That world is full of violent energy fluctuations, and... there are many powerful light sources."
"Light source?" Snape asked.
"Yes, that is the glory of Divine Power. There are many gods living in that world. If I guessed correctly, it should be a world similar to the ancient Greece or ancient Roman mythology."
"Do you want to go there?" Lily was a little worried, "If there really is a god there, would it be too dangerous with our current strength?"
"Don't worry, I don't intend to pass by. I just use the spell of [Time Rewind] and the disguise of Divine Authority to 'peep' into the past of that world."
Ian showed a sly smile.
"I observed the forging god of that world."
"God of Forging?"
"That's right. In this universe, I have always been curious about the method used by the gods to create Divine Artifact. They don't seem to rely entirely on runes."
"After several days of observation, I finally discovered the secret."
Ian waved his magic wand, and an illusory long sword appeared in the air.
"When gods forge Creation items, they use a special language - divine language. They infuse their will and rules directly into the items by chanting specific syllables."
"This type of attachment Magic Cube does not require complex rune circuits, but directly modifies the essence of the item."
"For example, when they want a sword to be sharp, they don't just apply a 'sharpness spell', but use divine language to command the sword, 'You are sharp.' As a result, the sword acquires permanent sharpness and can even cut through space."
"I named it--[Word Enchantment]."
"Just say it and it will come true?" A glint flashed in Snape's eyes, "This sounds like the spirit of words."
"The principle is similar, but it requires huge energy as support and a specific frequency and intonation."
"More importantly," Ian continued, "I not only observed that world, but also followed the clues and used this method to observe several other coordinates."
"The ancient Egypt god system, Maya god system, Mesopotamia god system... I observed the god of craftsman and the god of forging in each mythological system."
"Although their languages and rituals differ, the core principles are the same."
"I have recorded the frequency and pronunciation of these divine words. Next, our task is to integrate this [Word Enchantment] technology into our arcane system."
"Imagine," Ian's eyes were burning with fanatical flames, "If we combine the precision structure of Arcane Runes with the spiritual power of the gods, what level will the equipment we create reach?"
"Even standard equipment produced on the assembly line may have the attributes of Divine Artifact."
Lily and Snape were deeply shocked by the blueprint drawn by Ian.
"This is simply... cheating," Lily muttered to himself.
"In this cruel Multiverse, only the weak are fair. What we have to do is to use all means to make ourselves stronger."
Ian sat back on the chair, picked up the pipe and took a puff.
"Okay, you are tired too, go to bed early. We will be very busy starting tomorrow."
After sending the two people away, Ian did not rest.
He focused his attention on the book <Negative Energy Analysis> again, but his thoughts drifted into the distance.
Through this "peeping", he not only learned techniques, but also confirmed one thing:
This Multiverse is much livelier and more dangerous than he imagined.
Although those gods have fallen asleep or become weak in this world, in other parallel worlds or planes, they still stand high and overlook all living beings.
"We must seize the time," Ian said to himself, "Before the real crisis comes, we must have the power to kill gods."
Then, he was immersed in the sea of books again, as if he had forgotten the passage of time.
And his next target is the mysterious place called "The Library".
