"Have you made up your mind?" Ian asked, and Chloe nodded.
"Very well. It's better for you to choose yourself than for me to force you to do it. Come on, sign this."
Chloe looked at the ancient parchment in his hand and looked at him with some confusion.
"This is a magical contract to protect your memory."
"I still don't understand."
"In my universe, the gods are real and very active. Arcane Empire is very unique because it masters technologies such as parallel dimension shuttle and Omniverse travel. Any one technology is enough for all the gods to unite to destroy us."
"So precautions must be taken," Chloe muttered.
"Exactly. This contract is to ensure that you will not reveal this knowledge. Even if someone tries to obtain information from your soul through other means, it can also protect you."
Chloe paused, "What about other people on Earth? Do they want to sign this too?"
"No, their memories will be modified."
She looked at the contract and signed it without even reading it. At this point, she was already prepared for the worst.
Seemingly guessing her thoughts, Ian said with a smile, "You don't have to worry that I will trick you. When you get to know me, you will understand that some of the things I do are just because I am naturally suspicious in some aspects."
After signing the contract, Chloe walked into the hut and logged into the Skynet server designed for her by Ian.
She found herself in a huge, empty white space with a screen suspended in front of her.
She browsed and immediately realized that this was the course she was about to study.
These include [Basic Understanding of Magic Power], [Standard Book of Spells], [The Relationship between Body, Mind, and Spirit], etc.
The list was very long and detailed. Chloe found she had to learn multiple languages, even Dragon Language.
She also had to learn the different magic systems, or at least have a basic understanding of them.
The course also included meditation, out-of-body experiences, and even Dream Magic; she could tell it was all tailor-made for her.
Without any hesitation, she started studying.
At the same time, while waiting for Chloe to complete his studies for a month, Ian was not idle either.
He had to redesign his trans-Dimensional Teleportation spell and create some new nanobots that came up on his whim.
In addition, he also needs to build some spaceships that will be used later.
During this month, he was interrupted once and had to go out.
The first interruption occurred when Kaulder attacked the home of Chloe with special forces provided by Axe and Cross.
Ian directly teleported the special forces away, and then imprisoned Kaulder.
The second time out was to attend a witch gathering organized by Witch Council under the orders of Ian.
He went there to spy on the witches and see who deserved special attention when bringing them back to the Empire.
He also read everyone's minds and created archives of their thoughts, beliefs, and personalities.
Then, he put some of them on the key training list, some on the observation list, and a few people were included on the list like Death Eaters who were forced to sign slave contracts.
For this trip, Ian had to teleport to different meeting points around the world. Finally, he returned to his study.
A month later, he waited in front of the hut when Chloe came out.
Compared with a month ago, her magic power has only increased a little, and is still at Zero Tier. However, her eyes have changed and become brighter; the light of wisdom is in them Blink.
"Very good. With your current mental state, as long as you have enough magic power, you should be able to reach Third Tier quickly."
Chloe responded with a smile, satisfied with his rapid progress. "So, what experiments do you need me to help you with?"
"You can rest for a few days before we start again."
"That's not necessary."
Later, Ian took her to a room with a chair and a helmet in the center of the room.
"This is what I call Dream Helmet. Sit down and put it on."
"So, what is this experiment about?" Chloe asked while putting on his helmet.
"I speculate that there is a dimension made entirely of dreams, and I need to find it. This helmet will amplify your senses and the talent of Dreamwalker. I need you to use this amplification to find the coordinates of Dream Dimension."
Chloe nodded and closed her eyes. During these years of study, she realized that her abilities relied heavily on her imagination, so she did so.
She imagined a world made of dreams, the source of all dreams.
Whenever someone dreams, their consciousness goes to that place; it's a place that connects all dreams in the universe.
Following Chloe's imagination, she found herself flying very fast in a certain direction.
She flew so fast that she could hardly see anything clearly except the light and shadow of Blink.
At one point, she felt a slight resistance and then entered something or somewhere; it was like passing through a barrier. She looked around and noticed that her surroundings were strange.
It was as if she was inside a painting by Vincent van Gogh. She walked over to a rock and looked at it.
However, the rock suddenly turned into a lion and tried to bite her.
Chloe screamed in horror, and strangely, her scream produced a powerful shock wave that instantly destroyed the lion.
"Is this the dream world? How strange."
At the same time, in another room, the screen in front of Ian is recording a large amount of data.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
"Finally found the coordinates."
Through this experiment, he could see that Chloe had left her body and entered a certain dimension; to be precise, she was attracted there. All Ian had to do was follow her and locate her final destination.
Once he got what he wanted, he walked towards an empty circular portal frame in the room.
He used his soul power to input the coordinates into the portal, and a few minutes later, a white transparent light door filled the frame.
Ian took a step forward and was about to enter the white door, but suddenly stopped.
Because at the moment he took that step, his [Cosmic Perception] was activated for the first time since he came to this world.
He saw a picture. He saw himself in that strange place, as if he were in a painting.
However, within a few seconds of landing, a huge black palm smacked him down, instantly destroying his body and soul.
He had no time to react, all his life-saving measures were useless, and he was wiped out effortlessly.
"Eleventh Tier·Dream Lord?" He muttered to himself with shock on his face.
This is an opponent at the same level as Truth, and can even be said to be stronger than Truth, because it does not have the same weaknesses as Truth.
Even with Floating City in hand, the best he can do is to escape.
After thinking for a moment, he decisively closed Dimension Gate created for this experiment.
One of his greatest strengths is knowing when to back off.
Anyway, there is more than one Multiverse. With the help of Chloe, it will be easier to re-run this experiment in other universes in the future and find a Dream Dimension without an owner. Even in his home universe, there may be one.
"Looks like it's time to conquer this planet, then return to Earth-125 to take care of some things, and finally go home."
Ian has a premonition that his time in this universe is coming to an end. Although this world seems weak on the surface, there are too many secrets hidden in it, and a little carelessness will cost him his life.
However, before leaving, there was one last thing waiting for him to do; that was a final battle that had to be fought.
After making a plan, he went to wake up Chloe and brought her back from Dream Dimension. Looking at the intoxicated expression on her face, it was obvious that she still lingered a little bit.
However, after listening to the illusion described by Ian, she understood the horror hidden behind that picturesque world. What Luck is is that she was not attacked, which is probably because she possesses Dreamwalker talent.
Still, she didn't want to test the theory.
