Claude's tactics are very standard: first, the caster applies buff magic to others, and then the archers start firing volleys. After Lieutenant General Corsil issued a certain order, a group of blue-skinned humans holding staffs began to chant, and a shield was raised around the legion. Then, the blue-skinned men also dispatched their archers.
The two sides fired at each other during the march, causing casualties on both sides. Then, when the distance between the two sides was less than 100 meters, the caster began to cast spells.
Claude watched all this calmly, recording all the data of the Blue Man (the temporary name before further investigation). As for the casualties on his side? This is war, so it is to be expected. This Knight Legion is only a small part of what he brought, and these people are not technically dead, because there is a Resurrection pool in his tower, which contains their soul marks. Resurrection them is just a matter of cost.
"Infantry is about to clash," someone commented. The screen showed a battle between Dwarves's shields and human spears and the blue-skinned warriors.
"These warriors have enhanced physiological functions, and it has been detected that they are using magic power to maintain this enhancement," someone reported.
"Someone used an elemental attack."
"What element?" Claude asked.
"Flame."
"Show me."
Several screens appeared in front of him, and he saw countless blue-skinned men using elements such as fire, wind, and lightning to attack. "So, they are not just ordinary warriors, but magic swordsmen? Have you detected their magic immunity level?"
"Preliminary analysis shows that their magic immunity is 23% higher than ordinary [Qi Martial Artist]," Witch Club reported.
"So high?" There is a reason why Claude is so shocked. Since the opening of Exploration Era and its contact with other planes and civilizations, it has been proven that in most aspects, especially when it comes to humans or subhuman species, Arcanist represents the highest standard.
Claude switched screens on the screen in front of him, and he immediately saw that the proportion of blue-skinned warriors dying from arrows was higher than that from spells. "What an interesting civilization," he said with a smile. He had a hunch that this expedition would bring him great wealth and status.
"Sir, we have collected enough preliminary data. Do we want to end this battle?" a commander asked.
"What about other people's opinions?" Claude asked.
"Agreed."
"No problem."
"Okay, let's take action," Claude nodded. "Also, don't forget to record the credit of these knights truthfully." These knights signed up to join Knight Legion in order to improve themselves or their lives in their plane. Therefore, they are very concerned about how much contribution or credit they can get after each battle.
The command center conveyed new orders to the various legions, mainly the spellcaster legions. Without any hesitation, these mages began to use War Spells, which is essentially a combination of spells.
These spellcasters are specially trained to resonate their magic and chant in unison, casting far more powerful spells. War Spells is not a new concept, having been present in the Empire for a long time. This knowledge is one of the few openly shared with conquered planes.
After a round of indiscriminate bombing by the spellcaster, the battle ended quickly. Lieutenant General Glandax tried to make a last desperate counterattack, but he was blown to pieces by one of the spells. In the end, Knight Legion killed most of the blue-skinned men and captured a few alive and brought them back.
Claude Standing in front of the dissection team, there are two blue men lying on two different dissection tables: a warrior and a spellcaster.
"We will start by obtaining preliminary information about their race's language, culture and society," Claude ordered. The witch cast Legilimency on the warrior.
"They call themselves Stirex, which in their language means 'people favored by magic'," the witch said. Their world is ruled by three big Empire: -"
Countless sirens suddenly sounded, and the soldier began to twitch, and blood seeped out of his seven orifices. "What happened?" Claude asked.
"His soul is collapsing," said the witch. "No, what's worse, his Soul Dimension is collapsing."
"How is this possible?"
"Look at this." She showed a piece of data.
"How could his Soul Dimension be so small and fragile?" Claude frowned. The subject's energy level is equivalent to the Arcanist of a Tier 4, so even if he is not a spellcaster, his soul and Soul Dimension should be fed back by his powerful body.
"Check the other one," Claude ordered. As expected, the caster's Soul Dimension was also extremely tiny and fragile.
"This doesn't make sense," Claude frowned. Without a strong enough soul, it is impossible to control magic and cast spells. "Is there any special law in this world? But that usually only applies to the environment."
Some planes do have special laws; for example, a plane dominated by the elemental law of fire will only breed fire-based creatures and resources. The strangest plane Empire has ever encountered is a plane with special ghost laws. In that world, ghosts are immortal as long as they never leave that plane.
"Do you want me to search this spellcaster's memory? We might be able to get more information about this," the witch suggested.
"Go, but be more careful to prevent his soul from collapsing," Claude nodded. At the same time, he activated the magic circle in the room, which scanned the warrior's body and then showed him a holographic image of its anatomy.
"Skin, bones, muscles, and every part have been strengthened by magic," Claude concluded. "The overall anatomical structure is close to humans, but this race has evolved several magical organs."
Claude saw the organs that allowed the warrior to capture and store magic within his body.
"Their physiology is extremely complex," he commented. The more information the body scan revealed, the more awed Claude became. The complexity within this warrior exceeded even Empire's magical circuits. The speed and efficiency with which magic flowed through every part of his body was simply incredible.
"Did this species evolve such a body to make up for the shortcomings of their souls?" Claude speculated. He ordered the magic tower to send another test subject, but this time it was a second spell caster. He scanned the latter's body, and the results were very similar: extremely delicate and complex magic organs and systems.
"The warrior's body is designed to use energy for internal applications, while the caster is both internal and external," Claude analyzed. Spellcasters have special organs in their throats, mouths, hands/fingers, and feet.
"So, these are where they release their spell effects?" A Stirex spellcaster can release fire, frost, etc. spell effects by opening their mouth. The same goes for their hands or feet.
"However, those spellcasters we encountered did not fight like that. They cast spells like ordinary spellcasters."
"Those are intermediate and high-level spellcasters," the witch said suddenly.
"Did you find anything?"
"Yes," she replied, then showed him a memory. The spellcaster was using martial arts moves to train his spellcasting abilities. Each set of moves, which could include anything from kicks to punches to backflips, would produce a different spell, most of which were elemental.
"So, martial arts movements are their spell models," Claude concluded. Arcanist uses runes as their spell models, while this race uses body movements.
"This is an excellent way to bypass them Soul Limitation," Claude praised. "What about the high-level spellcasters you mentioned?"
"According to memory, mid-level spellcasters use spells to control the vibrations of their muscles, bones, and internal organs--"
"Thus reproducing the effect of martial arts movements," Claude added. "It's amazing."
"Meanwhile, advanced spellcasters don't even need spells. They have trained their brains to achieve microscopic control of their bodies in order to better cast spells. Their staffs are also made to better help control vibrations."
Claude's eyes Blink glowed with excitement. "Witch, do you think if I Fusion the magic system of this plane into the arcane system, can I become the tower master?" Every Arcanist hopes to become the tower master and one day own a Floating City. The latter is currently impossible to achieve, but there are already many tower owners, all of whom represent the pinnacle of the Empire's wealth, talent and magic.
"Yes."
"Oh? Tell me what you think?"
"Just copying the internal energy cycle of this race is enough to improve the magic affinity and resistance of all Arcanist," the witch analyzed. "But this is only the most basic. Having a body that can cast spells without relying on the soul will be a disruptive change for the overall survivability of all Arcanist, and by mastering Mind-Body Dual Casting's skills, our overall strength can also be greatly enhanced.
"With such an achievement, becoming the tower master is almost a certainty."
