Honestly, Polaris was somewhat unwilling to work as a housekeeper.

After all, she was Magneto's daughter. Rebellion was in her bones.

In short—she was rebellious!

If she hadn't been the one in the wrong first, and if she hadn't been unable to beat Luo Bai, how could she possibly have been so agreeable and willing to become a cleaner?

Polaris froze and asked in confusion, "What does 'little dark room' mean?"

Considering that explaining it would be troublesome, Luo Bai brushed her off. "You'll understand when the time comes."

Luo Bai looked very serious.

Though he didn't look very old, perhaps not even much older than Polaris.

For some reason, though, Polaris felt that he seemed very mature and steady, as if he were particularly hard to get along with.

"Um, well... may I ask what your name is? I mean, what should I call you from now on?" Polaris asked.

"Mage Luo Bai," Luo Bai replied.

What was more, mages generally didn't like appearing in public, so like most people, Polaris had never heard that mages existed in this world.

When she heard Luo Bai call himself a mage, Polaris's eyes instantly lit up.

As though she had discovered a new continent, she continued before Luo Bai could answer. "So those red chains you created earlier, and that strange space, were all magic, right?!"

There was a hint of delight on Polaris's face at that moment. She looked like a curious young girl.

He went straight to the study to continue organizing his magic books. As he sorted them, Luo Bai thought about what had just happened.

Honestly, Luo Bai hadn't expected to pick up a housekeeper for free the moment he got home!?

He had been thinking before that such a large villa really was inconvenient without a housekeeper. After all, he didn't have time to stay here every day and clean up.

He hadn't expected Polaris to deliver herself right to his door.

Though she looked a little young and might not be all that reliable at work.

She was a Mutant!

And she had the power to control magnetic fields. Ordinary people couldn't beat her at all.

A cleaner who could guard the house, tidy the rooms, pay him to cook, and work for free was hard to find!

Well, what could he do? His luck was pretty good~~

Thinking of that, Luo Bai's mood improved greatly. After organizing the magic books, he sent Stark a message.

He hadn't forgotten that he had come to New York because of Stark.

About fifteen minutes later, Stark appeared outside the villa.

The moment the door opened, Stark walked in as casually as before.

As he walked, Stark said, "Luo Bai, where have you been lately? I've been looking for you!"

As usual, Stark walked over to the sofa, ready to sit down.

There was another person in the room.

And she was a young girl who looked underage.

"Who is this?!" Stark couldn't help asking.

"My newly hired housekeeper," Luo Bai replied calmly.

This time, Stark was anything but calm.

"What the hell?! You hired a new housekeeper??! Are you serious?" Stark asked in disbelief.

Luo Bai nodded and replied firmly, "Yes."

Stark still couldn't quite believe it.

Come on, this girl looked underage.

What underage girl ran out to work as a housekeeper? Wouldn't it be better to do something else?!

Thinking that, Stark continued, "I'm not that conservative. You look like an adult, so you're old enough to date. And I wouldn't say anything about it. You don't need to hide it from me. Or... is she underage?! If that's really the case, then I have to say something to you. At the very least, date an adult!"

"..."

It had to be said that Stark could be pretty imaginative sometimes.

That whole speech... left Luo Bai speechless.

Fortunately, Polaris stepped in to explain in time. "Hello, Mr. Stark. My name is Lorna Dane. I'm the new housekeeper hired by Mage Luo Bai."

Because of that, Stark wasn't curious about why Polaris recognized him.

What he was curious about was whether Polaris really was the housekeeper Luo Bai had hired??!

He examined Polaris with a puzzled gaze for a long while before finally asking, "Kid, are you having some kind of difficulty? If you're really struggling, I can help you. You should still be in college at your age!"

Polaris shook her head. "I'm not having any difficulties. I volunteered to become Mage Luo Bai's housekeeper."

Stark was completely speechless.

He looked at Luo Bai with a gaze full of envy, jealousy, and resentment. "So where exactly did you lure in... such a beautiful girl... who is willing to be your housekeeper at such a young age?"

Luo Bai didn't answer. He merely asked, "Tony, did you forget that you came to see me because of something urgent?"

Only then did Stark finally remember why he had come.

"Oh, right. I did say it was urgent. Honestly, Luo Bai, I've been incredibly depressed while you were gone. Really, incredibly depressed. I think I might not have much longer to live." As Stark spoke, his expression instantly darkened.
