The energy contained within the multiverse was far greater than that of Earth, so many mages began traveling through the multiverse after mastering the knowledge they needed to learn.

The Marvel Universe could roughly be divided into: single universes, multiverses, megaverses, and omniverses.

At Kamar-Taj, most mages could only manage travel within a single universe. Simply put, that meant spatial teleportation within one universe, traveling to designated locations.

There were not many mages capable of traveling through the multiverse. At Kamar-Taj, only a few Archmages could barely manage it.

Of course, with Luo Bai's current strength, traveling through the multiverse had already become second nature to him.

So what he was training now was not his physical body, but his spiritual body—also known as his soul.

So far, only Gu Yi at Kamar-Taj could send her soul traveling through the multiverse. She was the only one capable of it.

After all, the soul was far more fragile than the body.

The multiverse contained too much energy. Ordinary souls simply could not withstand the impact of such immense power.

But in order to train his soul, Luo Bai had no choice but to do this.

During his first attempt, Luo Bai suffered quite a severe impact.

His soul could not endure even a full day in the multiverse.

He felt as though an invisible yet powerful force was suppressing his entire body, from the crown of his head down to his toes.

Every cell in his body suffered intense stimulation, as though his body could be torn apart at any moment.

After enduring the impact for a day, Luo Bai had no choice but to return his soul to his body.

After adjusting his condition and resting, Luo Bai tried again.

Only after twenty repeated attempts did Luo Bai finally withstand the pressure.

He then began trying to venture deeper into the multiverse.

The flow of time in the multiverse differed somewhat from that on Earth, so Luo Bai had no idea exactly how long he had trained.

Until he noticed some commotion downstairs. It sounded like Polaris was arguing with someone.

That struck Luo Bai as strange.

Polaris should have been the only person in the house, right?

Who could she possibly be arguing with?!

Considering he had trained for so long, Luo Bai truly intended to relax for a while.

He got up, opened the door, and headed down from the second floor.

The moment he reached the second floor, he saw Polaris standing outside the door, apparently talking to someone, her emotions extremely agitated.

Because of her agitation, the metal objects in the house were constantly shaking.

Even the chandelier on the ceiling was beginning to sway precariously.

"Lorna, what are you doing?!" Luo Bai called out.

At once, the house fell silent.

Polaris turned around, the anger on her face instantly becoming excitement. "Mage Luo Bai! You finally came out?!"

Came out??!

The way she said it made it sound as though he had gone inside somewhere.

Thinking that, Luo Bai could not help complaining, "What do you mean, finally?!"

Polaris said excitedly, "I counted. It has been exactly one month since I last saw you."

Luo Bai: "???!!"

Huh!

A month?!

"Has it really been that long?" Luo Bai could not help asking.

"Yes! Look at what date it is today!" Polaris said.

Luo Bai picked up his phone and checked the date.

Good lord, a month really had passed.

It could not be helped. The passage of time in the multiverse differed somewhat from the passage of time on Earth.

Although Luo Bai had not felt as though he had traveled for very long, an entire month had passed on Earth?!

That was truly unexpected.

"So you stayed in the study for the entire month?" Polaris asked.

Luo Bai thought for a moment before saying, "Not exactly. I actually went traveling afterward."

"Traveling??!" Polaris was stunned.

Her eyes widened. She had clearly misunderstood.

"Mage Luo Bai, I guarded the house for an entire month. I did not dare leave even half a step, afraid you would not be able to find me. If you were going traveling, you should have told me. At least then I could have given myself a vacation..." Polaris said, sounding somewhat aggrieved.

"Actually... I did not know so much time had passed either."

"Fine."

Polaris let out a sigh.

Who told Luo Bai he was her "creditor"?

There was nothing she could do but endure it.

"By the way, did anyone come looking for me this past month?" Just as he was thinking that, Luo Bai suddenly asked.

Polaris quickly nodded. "Yes. Mr. Stark, Natasha, and that bald egghead all came looking for you. But I did not dare go upstairs to disturb you, so I told them you had something to do and could not see anyone for the time being."

After the lesson from last time, Polaris did not dare take even half a step upstairs, much less let anyone else go up there.

She was afraid Luo Bai might accidentally turn her into a "frog."

Luo Bai understood. He was also glad she had not allowed anyone else to disturb him, or he would not have been able to complete his soul-strengthening training so smoothly.

Thinking that, Luo Bai could not help praising her. "You did very well, Lorna. But who were you talking to just now?!"

Hearing him ask, Polaris nervously asked, "Did I disturb you, Mage Luo Bai?"

"Not really. It was just that you did not seem to be in a very good state," Luo Bai said.

Polaris did not seem to want Luo Bai to know who had come.

She blocked the doorway with her body before saying hurriedly, "It is nothing, Mage Luo Bai. They are just a few people asking for directions."

Polaris spoke as she tried to close the door.

But a voice sounded from outside. "Hello, sir. My name is Charles. You may also call me Professor X. May I come in and have a chat with you?"

Professor X?!

Hearing the visitor introduce himself, Luo Bai roughly understood.

Professor X had probably brought a group of X-Men to find Polaris. Most likely, he wanted to take her away.

Ever since taking Polaris in, he had guessed that mutants would come knocking sooner or later.

After all, Polaris's identity was far too special.

Having expected this, Luo Bai was no longer surprised.

"Since you are here, come in and have a seat," Luo Bai said politely.

Polaris froze.

She seemed not to have expected Luo Bai to say that, and she was worried about causing him trouble.

She hurriedly said, "Mage Luo Bai, I can handle this!"

Luo Bai smiled and replied half-jokingly, "If you really could handle it, you would not have entered my room and been treated as a thief."

Polaris fell silent.

Only after a moment did she finally let Professor X in.

The instant Professor X entered, Luo Bai saw an enormous bald head.

Although Luo Bai knew Professor X was bald,

seeing that gleaming bald head, Luo Bai could not help muttering, "Another bald head."

He had to admit, he and the bald heads of the Marvel Universe had quite the... affinity.

He had only been here for such a short time, yet he had already met several bald people.

His voice was not very loud, and Professor X did not know whether he had heard clearly.

Still, Professor X asked, "What?"

Luo Bai shook his head and replied, "Nothing. Hello, Professor X. Tell me, what did you want to talk to me about?"

As he spoke, Luo Bai sat down on the sofa.

Professor X wheeled himself closer, with several X-Men standing behind him.

Luo Bai was not entirely sure of some of the X-Men's identities.

But one of them—Jean Grey.

Luo Bai recognized her at a glance.
