Polaris had a strong-willed personality. That very trait meant she could not accept being called "weak."

Especially when those words had come from Luo Bai, the mage she respected so much.

That made it even harder for Polaris to accept.

Her spirits had already been low, but the moment she heard that, her rebellious streak flared up.

Her pale green eyes were filled with defiance.

But defiance was one thing; the helpless reality was that Lorna had no way to refute him.

After all, she really was weak right now.

She could not handle the X-Men, nor could she handle the Mutant Association. How could that not make her weak?

Thinking of that, Polaris took a deep breath and replied through gritted teeth, "Mage Luo Bai is right. I really am pretty weak."

Seeing her stiff expression, Luo Bai raised a brow and asked, "What? You look rather unconvinced."

The little girl was throwing a tantrum. Lowering her head, she stubbornly answered, "No."

Luo Bai smiled and teased, "The four fundamental forces of the universe: the strong force, weak force, electromagnetic force, and gravity. You can control magnetic fields, yet you still cannot deal with these people. Aren't you weak enough?"

Polaris: "..."

She was about to explode from anger.

Although she usually did not dare argue with Luo Bai, she was so angry that she could not help retorting, "That's because I have a mental illness, so it's hard for me to control my abilities."

As soon as she finished speaking, Luo Bai countered, "But you've never trained, have you? You know that Mutants are in a dangerous situation, so why haven't you properly trained your abilities?"

Polaris was left speechless.

After all, Luo Bai was right. If she was weak, why not train more?

Thinking that, Polaris suddenly fixed her gaze and declared, "I'll train my abilities properly from now on! Next time, I'll deal with them before they get here. I definitely won't cause you any trouble!"

Luo Bai smiled faintly and joked, "You still have to do your job. Don't train so much that no one cleans the house!"

"Alright, I understand," Polaris replied.

At that moment, all the worries and concerns in her heart vanished.

Although Luo Bai calling her weak had made her a little unconvinced.

On second thought, though, Luo Bai had only said it for her own good.

Mutants were in such a difficult situation now. If she did not properly train her abilities, how was she supposed to live from here on out?

Was she really planning to hide for the rest of her life?!

Once she understood that, she became even more grateful to Luo Bai.

"Mage Luo Bai, I know you said that because you wanted me to become stronger. Thank you for defending me so much in front of Professor X. I'll work hard," Polaris said, sincerely thanking Luo Bai and expressing her determination to grow stronger.

After saying that, before Luo Bai could respond, she asked again, "Mage Luo Bai, do you have anything else to do now? If not, I'd like to go practice my abilities first."

"Go ahead." Luo Bai waved his hand.

After Polaris entered her room and closed the door, she began training her abilities.

As she practiced, she muttered, "I'll work hard and keep practicing! Let's see who dares call me weak again!!"

Polaris had not said it loudly, but Luo Bai still heard her.

After all, he had trained for a month, and every aspect of him had improved by leaps and bounds.

Hearing Polaris grumble, Luo Bai could not help smiling.

Luo Bai was about to return to the study when the doorbell rang.

Like her father, Polaris could control magnetic fields and metal.

Opening a door with her abilities was effortless for her.

She simply had not used them much before, so Luo Bai had nearly forgotten she possessed that skill.

"That's a good skill. Quite practical." Luo Bai nodded in praise.

The next second, a familiar voice sounded from outside. "That's strange. Why is no one here??"

From that voice, it was obvious that Stark had arrived.

He seemed puzzled as to why no one had opened the door for him, yet it had opened by itself.

Curious, he walked inside. When he saw Luo Bai sitting on the sofa, Stark's furrowed brows relaxed.

His confusion turned into excitement, and Stark cheered, "Oh~~ my friend~~ I finally get to see you again. Where have you been this past month?"

"Traveling," Luo Bai said.

"Traveling??! Where did you go?" Stark asked.

Luo Bai thought for a moment before answering, "To space."

"...???"

Stark's expression became utterly spectacular.

"Alright, a mage's life really is beyond our understanding." Stark shrugged helplessly.

When other people traveled, they at least stayed on Earth.

When Luo Bai traveled... he was not even on Earth.

No wonder no one had been able to find him.

Of course, Stark did not dwell on the matter.

He merely dropped onto the sofa and asked curiously, "Where's your housekeeper? Where did she go?"

"In her room," Luo Bai explained.

Stark nodded, then shouted, "Miss Lorna, could you bring me something to drink?!"

The moment he finished speaking, Stark saw a green, aurora-like glow flow out from the room.

That green aurora drifted toward the dining table.

Stark was stunned by the sight and could not help asking, "What is that?"

As he spoke, he followed the green glow with his eyes.

Only when he saw the green aurora open the refrigerator, take out a can of cola, and place it on the table in front of him.

Did Stark finally realize that something was wrong.

"OMG??"

"Shit?! Am I seeing a ghost?"

"Luo Bai, what magic did you use?"

Stark was so shocked that he could not help firing off several questions in a row.

Luo Bai understood his shock and calmly replied, "It wasn't me. It was Lorna."

"Lorna??" Stark was utterly confused.

Luo Bai explained, "Actually, she's a Mutant who can control magnetic fields and metal. She's in her room working hard to train her abilities right now."

What the hell??!

She could control magnetic fields and metal?!

Seriously?

Stark was dumbfounded.

He had originally thought Luo Bai was lucky enough to have found a young, pretty, obedient girl as a housekeeper.

He had never expected that Luo Bai's housekeeper would possess such powerful abilities and be able to control magnetic fields?!

Thinking of that, Stark could not help complaining, "My friend, your luck is good enough to make people jealous. Could you find one for me next time too?"
